I run Bilstein B4S shocks with Eibach pro kit springs on my RWD F31 (on 18s with Goodyear non RFTs); fitted as part of a full suspension overhaul (every part) and it made hell of a difference to how the car rides & handles; the OEM M Sport set up is far too firm/jarring/wayward etc, more so on the local Lancashire country roads that surround us here!

@@EvolveAutomotive Absolutely! Typical you release these after I've done all the work back in January haha... Still; they've made the difference I was looking for and that's a much better ride, better handling and taking the roads smoother etc

I have a set of B14s on my F30 and I absolutely hate it and love it at times. Most times I find it shit bumpy on slower undulations. I would not recommend if anyone had Man boobs. I am contemplating to get B4s just so it's softer. However, on highways, the high speed damping is just sublime. I am so conflicted.

I think you should get B4 dampers or Koni Str-t, much softer!

As said above; I test drove an F30 with the B14s on; no good on normal roads at normal speeds; just too bouncy/firm. Bloody brilliant on the local fast B roads though! That's why I settled for B4S shocks with Eibach pro kit springs; rides/handles superbly, but takes rough roads so much better than OEM without jarring your fillings out!

Hi would sub frame bushes or inserts ie powerflex make a difference to handling on f31 also front radius arm bushes what difference would these mods actually make

That was hardly any feedback at all. I mean how do they compare in cornering? Are they b14 comparable? Bro just said there better than oem???? You have something for xdrive?

IIRC no; RWD only currently, need more demand for xDrive etc and they won't be as firm as B14s... I test drove an F30 330D with B14s on and they were superb on the tight, windy B roads etc... Back on normal roads, normal speeds; just too firm/bouncy. As bad as the B12s

@dannyb1979 what would you recommend for f36 which is the heaviest f30. Xdrive? Coilover or b8 with the eibach spring? Or swift spring? I want comfort but I want performance too

The factory G8x dampers are so good that at the moment we have no plan to develop something more.

I see these aren’t compatible with EDC cars. Are they a different fitment? I’ve been looking to change to normal shocks on my F31 330D

They’re not compatible because they do not plug in. If you wished to code out EDC I believe they should physically fit but our technical team could confirm.

They'll fit; you just code ECD out or get the ECD delete kit from KW (not cheap)

The B8s are far too firm firm for UK roads; the B12 kit as an examples rides like shit on normal roads at normal speeds... The Evolve ones will have been valved better to allow for better damping The Bilstein B4S shocks I've fitted to my F31 are a much better option for every day driving that B8s But it's all down to personal tastes too; some folk like their suspension to be firm

@@dannyb1979 I have B8’s installed and yes it’s firmer but the shakyness is gone. It’s a whole different type of damper from the B4’s

@@ScottPC I get that; I've run B6s and B8s in the past; but for me personally, they're just too firm for what I wanted out of my F31... I'm turning into an old fart and want comfort/decent ride more than anything else 😂
