it can be. It's a few things online to fill out and a few bucks and you have a record label. Not hard
@gamingbytetv6658 жыл бұрын
jake lugtmeijer Well that's exactly what it was, it was a registered company that made money/paid taxes etc, a lot of money as it happens. Not bad for "a couple niggas rapping in a garage". It had a headquarters where all the business side of it was taken care of, it just so happened that Hopsin preferred to record at home and not have people constantly picking at what he was doing. The man is a perfectionist who did nigh on everything himself, he made millions of dollars with little more than a computer, fruity loops and a half decent recording set up, again that's not bad for "a couple niggas rapping in a garage" People get confused between what a record COMPANY is, and a record LABEL. A label is merely an imprint of a larger company, it just so happened that this one was independent so in some way you could call it a record company. Just because it wasn't as successful as it could have been, doesn't negate the fact that it was a functioning business.

What I think happened is that hopsin garnered a lot of attention from 14-15 year old kids that were usually not hip-hop heads at the time. Thats when I found out about him for sure. Since then, he's been labeled as corny and never put in the conversation with cats like kendrick lamar, puhsa T, cole. Whether he deserves too or not is a seperate discussion, but I think hop just got tired of it. Pound syndrome didn't sell well, so hop needed a big marketing push, and this was it. Jarren was starting to stagnate since being associated with hopsin was putting a negative light on him too. Dizzy's inclusion never made sense in funk volume in the first place since he was basically the ANTI-Hopsin. Hopsin tanked the label, used dame as a scape goat, and everyone got some much needed marketing push as well as distance themselves to try other things. Now hop is using other producers whereas he used to produce only for himself, he's changed the cadence he raps in, he's changed his flow and the production is more trap heavy. He's also alluding to collabs with Ty dolla sign and king los. Personally, I can't wait since I feel hopsins new music has been FIRE, but dame likely did nothing wrong in this situation.

typical. We sit on KZbin comments debating our own opinions on how these two men live their lives. Hopsin has gone his way and he has to lay in the bed he has now made. Dame has accepted the circumstances even if it was out of his control and is moving on too. I don't see the necessity to funnel hate towards either one of these guys. They live on this earth like every other human does yet get hate for the choices they make. Nothing lasts forever and it looks like both of these men realise with FV, that was something not built to last. It was a damn journey though whilst it did, I believe Dame run the business well, Hopsin had the bounce to get it in the air but without the facilities provided by dame and his knowledge of running a business. I don't think it would have attained such a reputation in its time. I'll miss FV.

Did he addresss the claims that he was cutting bigger checks for himself? Hop claimed everyone on the label never asked about the gross profits from their work, and dame cut himself a bigger check knowing that. Was this addressed anywhere?

Hopsin also lied about being arrested for standing on the sidewalk being black lol...The story of Fort Collins is what really happened, but at the time he posted that he got arrested for being black, and then mentioned it again in a song on Knock madness. That's what Dame wanted to say but didn't

what hopsin said could very well of been true. had hopsin been white I bet he wouldn't of gone to jail. that cops wanted to cause hopsin grief.

Hopsin saw a marketing opportunity and took it. I'm always gonna think this was nothing more than a publicity stunt and everyone's eating it up. Look at how all them dropped songs right afterwards

Everyone says hop is the one that this guy rides on. But seriously without the business you dont have the build or the brand. Without the race team most race cars stay in the garage. Good luck to both
