I feel like it would be a lot more interesting if you showed them the pre-nerf versions of cards and let them give their thoughts on it rather than showing the nerfed version that doesn't see play and then saying "This version is nerfed, the old version saw a bunch of play though."

Thats the same issue the yugioh counterpart videos have. If the card was good based on effect whats the point in saying its bad if it was meta defining at a point. Makes intelligent players look dumb

why tho, it's still a card that's been evaluated, they give their thoughts on the version that's presented to them and that's it, it's not like there's a point system and they are getting penalized unfairly because "oh you said it's bad but when it costed 1 less it was good so you are wrong", they are judging what's presented to them and can be right or wrong about that independently from eventual nerfs or buffs

The fact this guy didn't even quit the game that long ago really shows just how insane the power creep has been over the past 2 years. Though i feel it's impossible to really get an accurate guess on a card without any context on what other cards existed at the time that just broke them completely.

Power creep has been pretty insane since descent of dragons, the next 4 expansions introduced some broken niche cards, then Stormwind just topped it off with the questlines.

Greybough saw a bunch of play with Taunt Aggro Druid. Being able to reduce it to 1 mana and copy it with Oracle of Elune was a huge synergy.

The funny part about the freeze mage analogy of snowfall guardian is against a board centric deck that can't outright remove it (or play a taunt) the card is effectively 6 mana Blizzard and next turn draw a 0 mana Pyroblast since the giant 10/10 guardian can just go face.

Next time you should show him the unnerfed versions. A lot of the cards you mentioned were actually not that broken in their nerfed state, but you talked about them like they were absolutely broken. Which they were. Unnerfed

Another potentially good idea is to show both cards before and after either a buff or a nerf. Then ask them to guess which ones is the newer version. Ask them if they can guess if the card's power level needed to go up or down to improve its overall balance.

I disagree on Greybough. The card was played in Taunt Druid during Barrens and Alterac. It was really good wirh Razormane and Oracle of Elune. The deck had 60+ % WR.

Well, I came back to HS as well. I was kinda high rank player who started play hs around 2014-2015 (wild legend and also standart legend), sometimes in Forged in the barrens I stopped playing and became casual (one game per weak for cards. These new cards are even more insane than I thought. But some archetypes (nature, fire, frost shaman etc) are funnier than some decks were even years ago.

Hey I just get back to Hearthstone and went through my old collections disenchanting cards, ended up with 11k dust. Is it worth to craft deck like Aggro DH, Mech Mage or Pirate Warrior or just wait for new expansion? Love your content.

Aggro DH is the best, but possibly too good right now - in other words, nerfs. Not to say thats that terrible as you get dust refunds, but something to think about as they may nerf a common or rare making the deck bad and suddenly you're left with a bunch of cards that suck and no refund. I would say a good solid pick would be something like control warrior or one of the mech decks. Assuming you enjoy those ofc!

All 3 of those are very strong and pretty cheap to craft, you should be safe with any. Expect some DH nerf to come soon though and maaaaybe a Smite nerf

Mech Mage is awful. Gimmick deck with a winrate completely centered around one card, mechashark, and that doesn’t even get it done still sometimes despite being the only good card in the deck

The Paladin hero is just like the Superman of cards. It's not conditionaly good. It's just straight up op in any deck! It doesn't depend on deck builds and other cards or situations. It has everything on it's own! Board aoe, immortal weapon, 50% damage reduction AND handbuff hero power which allows you to stay in the game until the end and never run out of strong minions... Seriously whoever designed this was a crazy fan of Paladins.

It's not an opinion though... just look at the stats on the card. It was only decent and barely used in decks. Even at 6 health it was never that difficult to clear since you don't even play it until the mid game.

I think that its better if you show the first version of nerfed cards, because saying "the card is good but its the nerfed version and before it was broken", well that means that the card is good and the guesser cant guess that its a nerfed version. Saying "this card was broken and he got nerf, now its still a good card" is better in my opinion
