The way i can tell a fake is the quality : if it's well made and has the older style thick canvas, then it's fake. If it looks fake and feels cheap, then it's real

They’re so amazing they can’t even get the color right. I’ve seen the super fakes that are praised on different forums/sites from specific sellers for being 1x1 match and they don’t have the correct yellowish orange undertones to the canvas that Authentics have.

@@jordynn55 ..If you are talking about people that are online, then you are not aware of the underground counterfeit market that is known by NYC ladies. These bags are totally identical to real bags and we suspect some of them are made in the same factories. Super Dacob is aware of what is going on in this market. It is not what you are talking about. Some people find these bags in Dubai but here in NYC, you have to know how to get them.

He probably has never seen a high Tier fake bag. I bought a fake unknowingly because the stitches were perfect etc. and it did patina beautifully. it took me two authenticators, to know it’s not real. That’s the problem. LV quality went down while fakes quality went up. I won’t buy pre loved anymore because of that personally. And simultaneously the prices are going up. Some bags have increased 150% in price in five years.

Really accurate super fakes didn't become common until around 2000. Even then they focussed on the most lucrative, so LV most popular and Chanel are the obvious targets. So you can buy vintage, just with caution.

I thought employees in stores weren't permitted to tell a customer if it was fake or real? Especially in the case of repairs, I understood that you only found out if it was sent to the repair center and then they returned it to the store that took it.

He also said that Damier Ebene always has red lining. I bought an Alma BB in Damier at LV in 2014. It has a plummy brown lining. I enquired at LV fairly recently as to why my lining is not red, they said at that time that was the lining colour used. Anybody looking or if I wanted to sell it would think it is a fake.

I have 4 LV pieces in Damier graphite. The craftsmanship could def be better. On the district PM, there was a long piece of thread left over at the bottom of the satchel. I tried so many key pouches in the US but all the threading was loose. I eventually got one I wanted at their flagship store in Paris. The wallet I got has no issues. I also picked up an old lock in Rome from a vintage shop. It matches the hardware of the District PM so I attached it to it. If I ever make a trip back out to that side of the world I’ll pick up a couple of other pieces like the keepall because it’s “cheaper” than buying in the US.

Ha - he would most certainly have classed my last two LV purchases as fakes! Bought online, they have been awful quality and it’s hard to understand how someone at LV could take time to package them up knowing how bad they looked. I bought online because what I wanted wasn’t available in the store and I find that happens a lot with pieces I want to purchase. This fella doesn’t strike me as a person who has worked in sales at LV but rather he got his ‘knowledge’ from what he’s heard others speak about. Maybe he was in the accounts dept. or the warehouse… allegedly, allegedly.

For sure, the best current replicas are frequently of as high or higher quality than authentic LV bags. If they’re not, then they’re not accepted. From my understanding, the SA’s are not supposed to authenticate customer’s bags. Only the repair expert would accept or not an item for repairs. That’s my understanding.

You are correct. SA at LV should not authenticate anything because they are not trained for it. If for instance someone needs a repair and it’s sent to their atelier and the bag is fake, the customer will be notified directly.

I just got classic speedy 25 directly from Louis Vuitton and I don’t think it’s microchipped. Where would I find it? Because when I received my bag and notes that there was not date stamp. I called Louis Vuitton customer service and they said their 25 speedy classic did not have the stamp and then I asked. Well how do I know it’s authentic and she said that purchasing directly from LV was my authentication. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s so true even the real deal has bad stitching. I have proof my first LV NV GM has wavy stitching and notice it after a while I bought it May 2021 and it was my first LV and was so excited to get it so I kept didn’t realize how bad it is til I got my 3rd LV 😢. But I’m not sure if I can still return it I have all the box and receipt for it😭and noticing the vachetta leather is so un even 😢

Oh my god, I cannot stand those authenticity experts 🙄 after such videos i have many subscribers texting me and asking if they could buy a fake in official store. On top of that and apart from quality issues, brands quiet often change small details, in order fakers always miss some minor details, so it should be considered as well together with the year of production.

There is an app that you can download that will let you run your phone over your bag and find the chip. It will not give you the LV info. It just tells you it’s there. Kind of cool to at least be able to find the chips. LV puts them in specific places in the bag. So if you find a chip and it is in the correct location, that can help with authentication. I tried it on a 2022 LV just to see if it works and it does. At least until the fakes start putting chips in them lol

Technically they make you sign a release when you allow them to send off the bag for repairs. Not sure how the release form looks like today though.

Disagree on the point where he talks about the “natural darkening” of the vachetta over time. I bought a neverfull around 3 years ago and the leather darkened so uneven after a couple of months that it looked like a fake! One handle was golden and the other looked like new. I went to the boutique and they said that this is normal 🫠 And the end I sold the bag because the whole situation bothered me too much. Actually that was the last time I bought something at Louis 😂 they definitely lost me as a customer after that experience.

I understand that uneven patina between handles can be annoying. Was there no way for you to darken the lighter handle more by adding something to it?

When you carry a bag with two handles, the outer handle is subject to getting dirty because that’s where your hand sits so it could patina in what seems an odd way, even if carried on your shoulder. 😊

@@AnUrbanGypsythanks for your reply but the situation was a little bit different. I wore the bag on both sites and one of the handles completely got patina and the other did not. Believe me I tried everything! I used baby wipes, I used some kind of leather lotion (1909 von Collonil) I exposed the one lighter handle to sunlight and hide all of the rest of the bag. I was a mess! I guess they used two different types of vachetta on the same bag and the leather was treated different before they assembled the bag.

@@SuperDacob hmmm I used baby wipes after every used, I used the Collonil 1909 leather lotion regularly and I exposed the one lighter handle to sunlight. Nothing worked and I tried it for like 3 months or so 🙊 I can be really stubborn with those things but in the end nothing helped.. 🥲

This is a great video. I have the reverse monogram Pochette Metis. I have a friend who has a fake. The only way I could tell was: 1. The LV font on the S-Lock was slightly different. 2. The fake has a single double stitch on the zipper panel in the back that the authentic doesn’t. Had I bought her fake at consignment shop or something I’d have no reason to think it was a fake. Scary.
