After everything that’s been done the last decade it’s hard to have faith in anything coming out these days. I’ll wait to see a trailer or something to get a vibe. These is plenty that could be improved form the og, but they were still so good growing up. I would love to see a lot of the stuff left out from the books in the remake

If they go into the detail that was missed from the films, such as including Peeves (RIP Rik Mayall), chasing gnomes out of the garden and everything else that was missing from the movies. Including that Harry was moved into Dudley's second bedroom and also for them to get the casting for James, Lily, Frank & Alice better, as in so they look like twenty-somethings not forty-year-olds in their images. Do not make this woke, keep it in the time is was written in and don't race swap characters, as remember this is a reflection of the UK city style school and not the US. Basically, hire me and I will help...

For those less aware, TSFH is a orchestra most renowned for trailer music. I highly doubt they would be involved in this just because I have yet to hear of them commiting to long term contracts for any shows or movies. One day... I can keep hoping one day they do. Anyway, artists include: Alexandre Desplat, Danny ElfmanRamin Djawadi (Game of Throne/House of the Dragon, Westworld) or Hildur Guðnadóttirm (Chernobyl) who has also worked on big films like Joker, Danny Elfman, Michael Giacchino.

@joshuahallett62356 ай бұрын
The key to getting a casting that will be widely accepted and beloved by us classic-era fans who grew up with the books and films is for them to be book-accurate down to the micro detail. For example, Harry and Lily should have GREEN Eyes. Lily, James, Sirius, Remus, Severus, Peter, and others should be age-accurate as can be reasonably expected from a supposedly book-accurate adaptation.
@hallowwolf35996 ай бұрын
I personally don't need everyone's hair and eye color to be 100% accurate if the actor's performance is otherwise true to the character. I really enjoyed the performances by the actors in the Percy Jackson show, even though none of the main 3 actors would be considered "book accurate" in appearance. Considering Harry's resemblance to his parents is mentioned multiple times, they should definitely try to find two people to play his parents who resemble the actor playing him in the correct ways (though Lily's eye color can be achieved with contacts or something), but otherwise, I don't think Harry and Lily need to specifically have green eyes.
@joshuahallett62356 ай бұрын
@@hallowwolf3599 Hmmm 🤔 interesting, but by that logic, if they don't cast people with green eyes, they could use contacts for one or both, given how many times it's brought up. Still, I agree as long as they look similar, I think they could pass. My biggest thing with the movies is more to do with the age of Harry’s Parents and their Generation. That is the main thing I would like to see corrected. Don’t get it twisted: Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, and the others are/were fanominal actors and definitely deserved a part, but it was still hard to deal with reconciling most of them as being in their 20s/30s. I can give a bit of leeway with Remus due to his condition and Sirius spending over a decade in prison, but there is no excuse for James, Lily, or Severus. Peter, I think this is a weird one, as it is hard to know how staying in one’s animal form for extended periods of time would affect the human form.

the only problem with this is that it seems like they rarely, if ever, give shows longer seasons later on (if anything, they tend to shorten seasons the longer a show keeps going). So I am wondering if the later books will still wind up more truncated because they adapt both Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone and Order of the Phoenix with say 10 episodes, when OOTP should probably get at least 16 episodes to keep the same pacing. Numbers are purely just for examples, I have no idea what number of episodes HBO plans to use for the first season, and I'm also not wanting to start a debate on the best number of episodes for each book. Just that because of the varying book length, they would need to have more episodes later on for a consistent series (particularly with regard to how "faithful" the adaptation is), but with the way TV shows are made, I'm a little skeptical they will do that. Unless they decide to split the later books into 2 seasons each, but that would have it's own problems, too.

@jasonp.11956 ай бұрын
I agree and disagree. The on location shots were great, and the Great Hall used real stone floors so it also looked fantastic throughout the production. But I thought the Hogwarts Legacy game layout for Hogwarts was a brilliant synthesis of those sets. Something I'd like to see retained and expanded upon for the television show. Mostly as I do not trust the television production to have the time to reinvent the Hogwarts layout in any fashion superior to what the game developers managed. Otherwise I anticipate something similar to the cinematic portrayal wherein the sets themselves were fantastic, but there was very little sense of how the castle was internally connected beyond those sets.

I'm so glad that JK Rowling is going have a huge part within the series, I mean, we wouldn't have it any other way, right? Now, we have the comfort of knowing that she's going to be side-by-side the writers and directors. This means that everything is going to be canon for the most part and that the liberties will not be taken lightly or completely out of context. I also feel JK Rowling can and will insert additional backstory and context for all characters. She is quite literally the creator of this universe she knows more about them than anyone else could ever fathom. I have complete faith that all will work out. I do say that the most difficult part will be casting and the retention of said actors.

Show a real life scene of the Peverell brothers and how they founded the deathly hallows (unlike an animated scene as per the movies) 4. Stay true to the source material and keep modern politics and social issues out 5. Hire actors that look like how they're portrayed in the books 6. Include more context into the first season or where ever it fits (like the scenes of Voldemort killing Harry in Godric's Hollow or Kreacher helping Regulus find and take the locket in the cave)

I read the books in grade school and followed along with the films and was definitely one to be swept up into the Potter hype when it was big. I even make a habit to watch all the film adaptations at least once a year. I even thought they did well with Fantastic Beasts barring the controversy with Depp. In my opinion I believe they did well with what they had for the time and the films I believe could stand alone as good pieces of cinema. They have patterns and story elements which go well with the young mystery novel genre they're based on. Were they to remake the series, I do not doubt it will bring controversy whether they actually do pull it off, nigh on failure at the low end. But I don't doubt there are good directors out there, however Potterheads are much like LOTR and Starwars fans, very serious. They even bite the creator sometimes for posthumously changing any detail of the work. I really don't think successful media needs a remake, especially when that's all the industry is these days, "safe remakes of popular franchises." Truly they should take a look at all the critical failures of the stories and IPs that have flopped in recent years. The public craves new and exciting things, I believe in the case for the Wizarding World, fantastic beasts was a good solid direction to start. Keep the IP but tell stories that haven't been told in interesting ways. Someone in the comments here talked about the four Founders of Hogwarts and I think that's an awesome idea they could take and run with, or talk about Ginny and Harry's son and his story, or even the first war with Voldemort as a suspense drama or something. Regardless, thank you for your videos and I hope you're well!

Personally I would prefer either a series focused on the Marauders or on James, Albus, Lily (Harry and Ginny), Rose, Hugo (Ron and Hermione), Scorpius (Draco and Astoria) and also on Teddy Lupin as well since we get nothing about him in the films. I'm not convinced redoing the books into a TV series is going to work, even if it does give more room for them to add more content that the films couldn't.

Just don’t make it for a ‘modern audience’ and we’ll be good

10:59 "... that we've been waiting for more content ever since the release of the final movie in 2011" and then proceed to show a picture of Newt from the movies... What a sick burn 😂😂😂

Can’t wait for the rainbow cult to completely dismantle the entire HP universe with this series.

Except that this isn't a "remake", fool. There is literally nothing to "remake". This is an ADAPTATION. Completely different.
