YWP is the only place in England where you can see Polar Bears, they have 8. Two females in Polar 2 and 6 males in Polar 1. It is the only place in England where you can see Red Howler Monkeys and the only place in the UK where you can see Rolloway Monkeys which are Critically Endangered the mating pair produced one baby last year and one this year but the father sadly died before it was born. They have a hotel and a shopping village, a dinosaur area and a big wheel. The best time to go is for the Safari nights when the park is open until 8pm as you get to see the lions and cats when they are more active and they have music, cocktails and a barbeque in the park, these happen in August.

Thanks for this video informing us of new arrivals and transfers, I have some more for you to add, I am a member of YWP as that is my local park so I can tell you that they have also had Maned Wolf cubs, Baby Gelada Monkeys, A Baby Rolloway Monkey the father of which sadly died, Baby Guinea Baboons and the Bennets Wallabys and Swamp Wallabys have had Joeys and Ringtail Lemars have also had babies. The female black Rhino is pregnant and is expected to deliver sometime in 2024. YWP has also sadly had a loss as the male lion Airs has died, he was one of 13 Romanian Lions rescued from poor living conditions in an Romanian Zoo,in 2010, there are now only 5 remaining from 2 of the 3 prides as a lot of then were in very poor condition when they arrived and had ongoing health issues.

Thank you Mary, this is all really interesting! There’s quite a lot I didn’t know so thank you for sharing! YWP is definitely somewhere I want to visit as I haven’t been yet, there looks to be a lot there and I’d love to see the polar bears

@@Jamestoland There is a lot, people are quite surprised when they come, they think it it only small but its one of the largest in the uk for space it about 460 acres and includes a river running through it, natural wetlands and woodlands. They have worked really hard to enchance the landscape that was there and have built a large freshwater lake for nature to enjoy and a large salt lake for the Sealions. They do all the ranger talks and feeding times as well. The maps are not very good though the best thing is to go round in a clockwise direction but when you get to the Camel sign you need to see them first and Polar 2 which is nextdoor before continuing on. By the entrance they have a separate area for shops the wheel and the hotel. The dinosaur experience is included in the park entrance but the wheel is extra, There is also a themed restaurant to dinosaurs and pirates depending on which side you sit which is near the shops. There are soft playareas both in and out the park and plenty of outdoor playareas for kids.UK THEME PARKS recently did a vlog that is quite good they managed to cover most of it.

The Sealions from Whipsnade Zoo have a massive salt lake to live in at YWP and are very happy, they arrived at YWP last year. If you have not been to YWP you should, as it it a very good animal park, it is very large so you will need good shoes, it a Safari Park on foot and it is a 6 mile walk to get round the park. There are plenty of places to eat drink and rest around the park. YWP have also had a baby Dik Dik this year.

I have also recently visited Flamingo Land in North Yorkshire and they have built a great enclosure for the Greater Flamingos that they have rehomed from Bristol Zoo Gardens which closed down. If you have not been to Flamingo Land it is well worth a visit as it has a large zoo with very good Sealion and Bird shows as well as Ranger talks and feeding times. They also have very reasonably priced zoo experiences. The zoo is actually bigger than the theme park and is unspoilt by the theme park as that is in a separate area if you book online 7 days in advance it is a lot cheaper and they do Zoo only tickets from November to March when it is very cheap to visit and you still have access to a Cafe a Pub and a Gift Shop.

They have also got a mother and baby anteater, but they are nearly always asleep.

They also have a large family group of Visian Warty Pigs and Painted Dogs, Ringtail Lemars, Red Bellied Lemars and Crown Lemars.

Amur Leopard Kirstin has given birth to a cub just six months after being introduced to father Drake at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the mother and cub are being kept off display off the moment so that staff can keep an eye on them. Amur Leopards are Critically Endangered.

I forgot to say which park the Spotted Hyenas from YWP had cubs this year.

The male Amur Tiger at YWP died earlier this year so they only have the two females now.
