My (second) husband is lovely too, and we have had various challenges - including my illness, and the fact that we have an adult son with autism and learning disabilities, who lives with us, of course. But doesn't society set a low bar for men? My first husband was, frankly, terrifying. It felt so amazing, not to be walking on eggshells with my real, for life, husband. I was so used to placing a low value on myself. I think a lot of women do, especially those of us who were brought up in very religious homes. I wish you many more happy years with your husband.

If I’m not mistaken he can’t go home to Anna after his release and be around his minor children without supervision. I think the court will order a social worker to be with Josh at all times when he’s around his minor children or maybe even grandchildren by then and he has to be supervised for the next 20 years after his release.

I believe it was her brother who said he would help her. I get what everyone is saying about Anna supporting herself and children with a book deal. However, if I had 7 minor children, who had their whole lives ahead of them, I don't think I would be willing to put some tell-all book out there. I mean, the kids will read it some day, and I can't imagine the comments and bullying they would endure in the mean time; both from well-meaning ppl who are trying too hard to "make up for" their home life; and from those adults/children who are just mean, heartless bullies. I think, if I were Anna and wanted to leave Josh, I would get everything set up very quietly through Social Services, etc., change my name, and go quietly to a place where I was relatively unknown. I suspect there are moments where Anna sees clearly who Josh is and what he has done. But, she is trained to forgive him for anything that he does. Plus, I see one of the biggest obstacles to leaving is money- she doesn't have any and she has lots of kids to feed.
