This is an easy exercise to help combat the nagging upper back tightness.
This drill can help to stretch the rhomboids and middle trap muscles. It can help improve the ability for the scapula to protract (wrap around the rib cage). And most importantly, it is a great way to get posterior expansion of the rib cage with deep breathing.
There are many reasons for why somebody may have discomfort around the shoulder blades (see the end of the video). Simply stretching the area will likely not produce any long term benefit but it sure does feel nice!
