I don't know who Meg Squats is, but lean beef patty legit has an ED and body dysmorphia - both of which she's spoken about, and there is no way she's not taking steroid. She is the exact opposite of a godsend. Visible abs, in women, is not a good thing. Justin Ercole is actually helpful, and has a background education in exercise physiology.

My mother is 81 years old, and they go harder than this in the fitness class in the retirement home. The focus there isn't even muscle. it's more about ROM, circulation, and staving off atrophy from age and a largely sedentary lifestyle.

At each stage , Hospital/Retirement home/Post THR I have gone harder just to warm up for my ESSENTIAL rehab therapy. It's absolutely disgusting to me theyre allowed to do it tbh. @TheObserver010 Yes, you can get a LOT stronger than an untrained person without looking "big". Besides, building a bit of size on arms and shoulders will make girls look a lot better as well. Wider shoulders will make the waist look thinner and stuff like that. But regardless, building for size takes so much time. It's not like it's going to sneak up on you and suddenly after you do a few workouts you realize you don't fit through doors anymore.

There was a couple of these arm workouts I was told to try out when my muscles atrophied pretty bad. I also have hyperextension of the joints, which make my shoulders and elbows slide in and out of place so i had to be careful with any actual lifting. It was hard to even lift my arms up for more than a few minutes at a time. It helps if you are an absolute beginner with no muscle mass at all.

Yeah I mean if you are a stroke victim or have a muscle wasting disease or some disorder that cuts strength to unnaturally low levels, like nerve damage. If you don't have a medical condition this isn't anything. I have carpal and cubital tunnel and have done the physical therapy to treat it, you use 5 pound dumbbells and work your way up and you do exercises designed to make you fight gravity. Now I can use 20 lb dumbbells.

its not just that, its bc these workouts arent very hard. They get the blood pumping maybe, and you may "feel it" in some spots, but like Mike said, the whole workout is a glorified warmup. It took me a solid year , year and a half to FINALLY get my wife into lifting consistenly bc she only wanted to to kickboxing and cardio bc weights were too hard and scary for her or she "didnt wanna be bulky" and finally i got her to agree to 3 times a week 30-45 minutes one major compound move and 2-3 isolation ones and now shes like wow i feel so much stronger and its like YEA IMAGINE WHERE YOUD BE NOW IF YOU JUST LISTEND A YEAR AGO lol

The first video (Kim's workout) wasn't really something that a moderately healthy person would find useful, nor would it ever change a person's pants size in a week (as it claims), but I can see it being a good workout for someone who is in very poor condition and is looking to work out for the first time. For example, if you've been bedridden for a few years or if you're extremely obese, then standing up and doing some light movements like this will be extremely beneficial at first, and can help build up the strength, stamina, and balance that you would need to gradually move on to more difficult exercises. Everyone starts somewhere.

Even now as a personal trainer who looks to see whats new out there..i follow other channels such as Athlene X . I am learning a physiotherapy and I am a ciach for rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics so I do believe that I have gained some expertise in training. First and foremost, yes those workouts are far from being the most effective and most of the shown exercises weren't targeting the muscles their meant to target according to what thse people. But I have to say that those exercises definitely did at least activate some muscles not the ones they said but the ones that worked against cravity. The second thing I want to add is that there are actually two types of hyperthrophy. Most people know only one though. It is the type where your muscle fiber size up, usually by getting wider but through special training you can also make them longer instead of wider. That is what you also call gaining muscle. Slow excentric and concentric exercises with good form against gravity with body weight or external weight/resistance will get you the best results here. But then there is the second type of hypertrophy which is unfortunately not known by many people allthough it is also very important, especially when you get older, when you have certain conditions such as parkinson or simply because you are an athlete in a gymnastics or dance sport. Contrary to the first type the second type does not widen or lenghten the muscle fibers but instead makes you use more of your fibers in the same muscle which also makes you stronger but without the visible muscle gain. You get this through stability training such as isometric exercises a combination of isometric, excentric and concentric exercises as well as excentric and concentric training on an unstable surface. (You can do the first two on a stable and on an unstable surface.) As said, this will not help you gain muscle weight but it will still strenghten the targetted muscles and also help them to adjust faster. This is especially important for people who are in risk of falling. So in short the isometric squat on the balance pad is actually a great exercise - just not for gaining musclesize. For ideal muscle training you need to do both. You need to get stronger through growing you muscle fibers stronger and through activating more muscle fibers at the same time. Last but not least doing exercises really fast is not doing nothing. Fast exercises are pretty useless if you do them for hypertrophys but you can use the to change you muscle fibers from slow twitch to fast twitch. Tjough it is easier to switch from fast to slow. The regular person does not need this but it can definitely make sense for some athletes. As an example, short track runners need to have as many fast twitch fibers as possible. The fast exercise in the video was still pretty useless bit it doesn't mean that doing exercises fast is always bad. This comment is not meant as a critique. I just wanted to share some more insight for the people who are interested into learning a bit more. These days there are many people outside who thing they are experts in the gym but actually know nothing about what they are doing and people who actually know that they know nothing about exercising believe that what those self made coaches know the best, follow their workouts and get frustrated or injured because they don't get what they where promised. I hope this will change someday. This bodybuilder here does certainly know a lot more than most of the other fit-fluencer out there. Keep it up 👌🏻 You are getting people on the right track. Thank you to those who read my comment. I know it is long but this much is important to understand the basics. I could dive much deeper into the topic but then this will turn into a novel. Have a wonderful day everyone ☀️

@@leighmeyers9870 to be fair, many people's vision of feminine is thin bordering on frail with little (if any) muscle definition, so many women are absolutely terrified of being "bulky / masculine / manly". There's little understanding of how unlikely that is or just how hard they would have to work to put on even 10 pounds of muscle. As a result there's a ready market for this type of fitness product where all that is required is to flail their arms (and maybe their legs) and call it a wrap.

Okay, let's talk about the corset. Corsets are structural garments which mean they contain "bones" that you can lean into for support. Great for posture, smooths out the fat rolls and gives a great surface for clothing to hang on. They are HORRIBLE for exercise because you don't actually have to engage your core/back because the corset provides all the support for you. Corsets also severely restrict range of motion. They won't impact your breathing if they aren't overly tightened ("tight laced"), however Kim regularly over-tightens hers to get the hourglass look so that's probably another reason she was not actually exercising in that video. In modern days, the corset is used for vanity, cosplay, history bounding, or medical/musculoskeletal issues. Wearing one to exercise in is just Kim trying to look like an animae character.
