2nd gens are all modern classics and very likely to be worth a fortune in 10-20 years. Don't let them fall apart around the drivetrain. I see so many that are rusting to death, screeching and looking lethargic from zero maintenance.

@@jaylenwinchester regularcareviews just uploaded a video 4 hours ago on the Viper Ram. Vipers have been talked about like hell for the past 2-3 years. Modern cars are downsizing (V8-> Turbo V6, V6-> Turbo I4) and it’s disappointing enthusiasts. The Viper’s big NA V10 stands in defiance of that.

That's nothing, Chrysler told Lamborghini to make a Viper engine out of this one, and after few years, 2nd gen Viper engine went into Ram, making it Ram SRT-10. Which is funny tbh, truck engine put into a supercar, later put back in a truck again (well, not exactly the same V10 but you get the point)

Now to get the owner to go with a full custom exhaust with3.5 inch pipes, x pipe and dual tips with race cats. I'm betting that would give it about 30 extra horsepower. Dodge motors seem to love exhaust modifications.

15+ Years ago my brother in laws neighbor let us use his truck to take their boat out, we get there and it has a open diff, the v10 incinerate the one tire. So difficult pulling a boat serious low rpm torque. I always wonder what they would sound like with that horrific exhaust removes so this is pretty cool awesome video

I owned a 97 V10 8.0L Ram 2500 4X4 Long bed club cab with an automatic transmission. It was a reliable engine I had it for 6 years, and my daily driver. I wanted something new and gas prices went up. So I sold it and decided to get a 91 Mitsubishi Mighty Max RWD regular cab. I wish I would've kept the ram to put a straight pipe in it, but the tranny was giving in at 202k miles.

Mine is a Cali truck, and an auto(such a granny trans but 2nd-3rd is nice on freeway on ramps) but it had single pipes, one Cat, and that massive massive muffler. As soon as I saw that hunk of metal I cut it out... and proceeded to leave it dumped straight under the back doors. Looking to side pipe it with a proper muffler here soon, the note is so deep it'll rattle the mirrors of the car next to me if I Rev it and it snap crackle pops under braking

This sounds completely different than the Ford V-10, which sounds better imo. The Ford has that distinctive V-10 howl & sounds very exotic, the difference is the Ford has a 72° split pin crankshaft & a balance shaft as well.

The v10’s sound really good with a equal length x pipe system otherwise the exhaust will choke out the engine and cause it to sound great then top of because it’s too much restriction. Shorter exhaust and an x pipe to get that powa

The (non SRT) truck engine is cast iron, the Viper engine is made from aluminum by Lamborghini. Iron blocks and subsequent tooling were sent over to Italy to be the basis for the aluminum engine. This is the only thing the engines have in common aside from small details like the intake for sure, and valve covers I think.
