Something about wood carvings; Embekka Devalaya (Embekka Temple) was built by the King Vikramabahu III of Gampola Era (AD 1357 - 1374) in Sri Lanka. The Devalaya is dedicated to Kataragama deviyo. A local deity called Devatha Bandara is also worshiped at this site. The shrine consists of three sections, the "Sanctum of Garagha", the "Digge" or "Dancing Hall" and the "Hevisi Mandapaya" or the "Drummers' Hall". The Drummers' Hall has drawn the attention of visitors to the site, due to the splendid wood carvings of its ornate pillars and its high pitched roof.

Imagine what the tea processing was like before they had machines.....I'm a tea lover as we all are in NZ. Green tea has the most antidioxidants and it helps with weight loss and fluid retention. But we mostly love black tea here with milk in it. In my Scottish grandmas house the kettle was always boiling to make the next batch of tea in a China teapot and served in delicate China cups and served with superb home made cakes and biscuits. The teapot had to be turned 3 times in a clockwise direction and the tea left to steep for 5 minutes before pouring. It was reddish brown coloured with a rich flavour. When tea was first imported to the west it was drunk without milk. The reason milk was added was because the very hot tea caused the fine porcelain cups to break. If you go to India at some point you can visit the tea plantations of Assam. I have friends with tea plantations there. I hope you get the chance to visit there.

Great informative video. The lady at the tea factory was so nice and explained everything very well. The sweet thing you got with the tea is called "jaggery" and it's made out of the "fishtail palm" tree (the lady said this but I think you didn't catch it), not sugar cane. It tastes much better and is healthier than normal sugar. The fishtail palm tree is called "kithul" in Sinhala, and we make kithul treacle (a liquid jaggery, so a honey) and toddy (called "raa" in Sinhala - an alcoholic, fermented drink, which is the national drink of Sri Lanka) with it. We also turn the pulp into a powder and cook it with coconut milk and other ingredients to make "kithul thalapa", a dessert. Rubber comes in liquid form, from the sap of the rubber tree. Sri Lanka also produces a lot of rubber - you should check out rubber tapping as well if you have time

The doorknob of that temple is really special, it feels like a very historic temple, The narrator is great, she asks the tourists how well they understand and then continue to explain, Thank you for helping us discover the secrets of the tea factory, this is a great tour, thanks for sharing! 👍😀👏 P.S. But where were Harry and Ali ???

6:29 actually you can say "gihin ennam" bruh not tata what😂 or we normally say "bye"
@All_About_Coc2 жыл бұрын
6:33 - Bye is what he meant Tata...In Sinhalese we could say Gihin ennam(Will go n come back),Passe hambewemu(Will meet later)...In Tamil we say Pethu varam (Will go n come later) You could always say Ayubown regardless of the time...They will repeat the same Ayubowan.. If it's Tamil - Vanakkam.. Muslim - Salams.. So there is more than 35+ videos coming on Sri Lankan series 👀❤️

MAC Have you been to Cambodia ? Anchor Watt is a huge collections of temples, some of them have been restored and some of them still have trees growing through them. We spent 2 days looking and walking. We flew in from Bangkok. Had a average hotel. I do not remember paying any entrance fees, but that probably has changed. I have traveled a lot in my 70 years, and Anchor Watt was special. We didn’t have any restrictions, really we were the only people there, but I have since heard that some of the temple’s restrict entrance or limited entrance to fragile temples.
