I've been living overseas for 4yrs and have seen many people move back home. They do it for two reasons. They go broke and women. And more times than not they go broke because of a woman.

I'm about to finish my 4th year living full time in Medellín, Colombia, and though there have been bumps in the road and a few tough periods after the initial honeymoon period wore off, I feel like I'm in a pretty good place here now. As alluded to in the clip, I think one of the keys is accepting who you are and not expecting moving to a completely new environment to necessarily change that. But if there are things you want to change, then take the time and have the dedication to "work on yourself"; i.e. indulge in your hobbies, exercise and get in shape, learn a new software application, etc. Being a natural introvert, I'm not a natural fit in the boisterous outgoing paisa culture of Medellín, but I've learned to partake of it just enough so that things don't get stale, and then spending the rest of the time doing things on my own that I enjoy and make me happy.

I am a long-term Xpat in my 60s with at least 1/3 of my life outside my country of birth. Only sometimes do I comment on YT, but if you are a first-timer, listen to this video. I know europines spend 1000s to relocate and in some cases turn round and go home in 6 weeks but most within 18 months, Make NO coomtments for 2 years DONT burn bridges until after 5 years at the very least and 10 would be better

Here's a thing about bent, shady, or grey: Thailand has a vastly different justice system from the US. The onus is on making people whole. not necessarily arrest and convict people. Even minor criminal matters can often be sorted before they need to go to court. And in those cases, contrary to popular belief it's not a matter of bribing anyone, you're paying off the other party so they discontinue charges.

If your financial liabilities exceed your financial assets, you are upside down in life. This is true for many if not most of the people in much of the western world. If you are able to reverse that situation and continue to build your assets while making your liabilities to as near zero as possible, your life will change. It is analogous to the Atlas statue when Atlas finally frees himself from the burden of carrying the world on his shoulders. Physically and psychologically your life will be much better once you are released from that weight. What you do with new found freedom is up to you and the path you choose to follow there after.

As always, I'm grateful for the experience you share! Here's an idea for a video, if it tickles you: speak more about the "palm greasing culture." When is it safe and when is it not? With whom? For what reasons ? How much is appropriate for various situations? How does one approach it in a way that is consistent with "face saving?" This could be a video for those who have already landed in Thailand. All the best to you and the misses!

Very valid points. Everyone should fall into at least one if not a majority of the categories mentioned. I fall into a few, Ramze, you spun up this channel and it became successful pretty quick, consider switching up your outro, people do want your advice and I think do confide in your opinions. Give yourself some credit.

I'm far away from being able to travel over to Thailand but his advice is good for moving to many different countries. So much of the advice out there is basically aimed at the low budget lifestyle people. And have a fantasy idea of what a good or traditional woman is. From sitcoms in the 60s and 70's

Ramze, enjoyed the video. Seems like a big piece of an xpat succeeding long term will be day to day social interactions. I’m single so the day to day social interactions will be very important. Maybe you could dedicate a video to how you’ve made social connections in Pattaya, facebook groups (haha), random interactions, mutual hobbies, professional interactions (fellow utubers), etc.

Have you been outside the country for any length or time before. Or have you moved around your home country and had to meet new people. It’s a skill you learn over time with practice. If you are going to visit Thailand plan for a few months trial period and learn some basic Thai . The more thai you learn the greater the number of Thai women you can talk to the have not had a string of foreign boyfriends who where on vacation.

I travelled globally throughout my career spending 2 months over the course of 3 trips in Bangkok and Phuket. I get the social networking idea/process. I was looking for insight regarding social networking in Thailand, specifically the xpat community in Pattaya and the various social networking paths.

great vid. everything you said is true. i would never sell my beautiful home in the good ole USA and move half way around the world. Thailand and the Philippines are great places to visit. so i go there for amazing visits. then i come home to a world i know and understand. a little fighting about politics and some higher prices are no big deal. i own my house, car, everything free and clear. social security gives me cost of living allowances. i enjoy Asian women when im there. but i will never marry one. i was born at night but not last night😂

Inflation is global. The only way to reduce prices is through government controlling prices , at least on the essential food items

No, controlling GOVERNMENT spending and stopping the printing presses (that cause the inflation) is the only answer. Governments send too much phony "money" (with no actual work behind it) chasing too few goods, so prices go up. Controlling prices has been tried and is a disaster. It only leads to shortages and black markets. Weimar Germany tried it. Stalin tried it. Venezuela tried it. People don't PRODUCE more when you control prices.
