I didn't get it at first, but now this is firmly in my top 5 of all time, even above The Glow pt 2. The more you return to it everything starts to make sense and you realise just how perfect every single detail is. Phenomenal record

The voice during IV. Mount Eerie is Little Wings, an artist and friend of Phil's. I'd recommend his stuff, especially his album Light Green Leaves. He shares a lot of sounds and ideas with Phil, but with a much more happy tone. Phil actually borrowed the melody from Little Wing's song Fall Flood in Solar System, albeit in a different key.

i love this album it really grows on you with more listens too. if you didn't notice its a concept album about this guy who basically gets stranded on an island away from his family. the sun represents the persons life from birth all the way to when they get stranded. solar system is basically the character hoping to find his family knowing that they are out there. at iii. universe he kinda starts to lose hope. he feels aimless and close to death. in mount eerie he dies and is eaten by vultures and in the final song v. universe he becomes one with nature which i think is a beautiful way to close the album.

i also love the final lines of the album "oh, universe, i see your face looks just like mine. we are open wide" always gets me for some reason

I also think that it's a sequel to The Glow pt 2 but don't quote me on that

I don’t think it’s that simple. The horns at the beginning tie it to the end of Glow Part 2, where Phil gets mauled by the bear and bleeds out. The drums represent a heartbeat, like he is reincarnated on the island at the foot of mount eerie. “There’s no end” is kind of like a reference to this.

Loved the Mount Eeire switch part, your reaction was just as similar as mine was, that part is totally terrifying… in a good way.

My personal favorite project from Mount Eerie is Clear Moon. It takes a much more calm approach and creates these beautiful atmospheres within songs. I think it's a really great experience of a record, and I love the themes of nature. Really glad to see you enjoying Phil's stuff though :)

I would recommend that you listen to the mount eerie record Lost Wisdom if you like the more intimate and simple songs from the glow pt 2. If you enjoyed the black metal influenced songs and ambient parts but still want something easy to listen to then I would highly recommend Winds Poem. Highly underrated album by Phil
