In 40 years of crocheting I’d never heard it was important how you turn your project and to keep the working yarn behind your work. I love when I can learn something new after all these years.

I am a first time subscriber to your channel. You did a great job explaining everything and the closeup view made it easy to see exactly what you are doing. Also, your explanation about using the yarn from the outside instead of from the inside was the first time I had heard that and it makes sense. Thanks.

@sandrajones22194 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for showing how you do the decreasing. I have made a smaller blanket with different wool; I have been stuck doing the decreasing I just couldn't get my head around how to do it. Also what is the reverse crab stitch. I love the shade of your thread. as I am in the UK we don't have it here. thank you again. Sandra
@ExperimentsinCrafting4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! The crab stitch is a reverse single crochet. I have a tutorial on the channel on how to finish the blanket with this stitch. It's a little tricky to start, but it's worth it in in the end! Thanks for watching! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZaQi5SXf756sJo&t

I would like to make a c2c blanket for a queen size bed. Would you know how much Bernat blanket yarn I would need? Like how many yards or ounces...
@teramartindale4325 жыл бұрын
What a beautiful blanket I am using regular Red Heart yarn a really pretty Peach with stripes of Gray I think I made my original increasing too large I wanted it to match on both sides I'm not sure when to stop increasing
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
You stop increasing on one side when you hit the width of the blanket you want. You can find standard blanket sizes with a quick google search. You can keep increasing on the other side until you want to make it rectangular. If you want a square you stop increasing on both sides at the same time. I used a stitch marker to mark the side that you are doing the increases on so you don't get it mixed up. Thanks for watching!

I want to make a lightweight blanket for a king size bed. But I don't know how many cakes of #3 weight self striping yarn and I would like to have the blanket hang over the sides a little. Can you help me wiith this?
@debbieplatt87355 жыл бұрын
I really like the look of this blanket and this yarn but I think it’s a bit beyond me at the moment as I’ve only been crocheting for 3 weeks. I will have to see if I can get that yarn here in the UK. I would have liked to see a few more rows slowly up close as I didn’t quite get the pattern but as I said I’m a real beginner
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you will be able to do it soon! I actually like it for a beginner because you don't have a huge row of chains to work into to start the blanket. If there is anything I can help with just ask here, on Facebook, or on Instagram! Thank you for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind for the next tutorial. Thanks for watching!

@Uncle_Steve715 жыл бұрын
I made a baby this way. Loved the outcome. I will never make one ever again.
@ExperimentsinCrafting4 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I'm glad you liked the outcome but I'm sorry it must not have been a great experience. I always liked the C2C because it gets long in the middle but it's faster at the end when I want it to be over- unlike a shawl where it just keeps getting longer or a rectangle blanket where it is the same throughout. Hope you find a project that you love the outcome and love the process! Thanks for watching!

How many rows did you do before you decreased
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
I decreased after 21 rows, but the important thing is that you decrease when you have used half of your yarn (or less than half if you are saving yarn for a border). Thanks for watching!
@proffice35046 жыл бұрын
how many rolls before decreasing
@ExperimentsinCrafting6 жыл бұрын
You can do as many as you like. I started decreasing after 21 rows. There was nothing special about that amount of rows. I had two balls of yarn and started decreasing when I had a little bit of the first ball left, that way I knew I wouldn't run out. Thanks for watching!
@ReginaK25 жыл бұрын
Not sure why you didn’t clip off the short yellow on the first cake instead of the gray and finish the gray since you were at the widest part of your blanket then start with the white?
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I was aiming to make sure I had the same amount of each color and in the same order throughout the blanket. There are usually a few ways that this can be achieved. Thanks for watching!

I love the hair even more than the blanket! What did you use to get your hair that cold? And did you bleach it first?😎
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have it dyed at a cosmetology school near my house. They used to use Pravana and now they use Pulp Riot. I have it dyed roughly every six- eight weeks and bleached every other dye job. It's a long process and and it is a lot of upkeep but I really love having my purple/pink/blue hair.! Thanks for watching!

Does it create the same weight as C2C with a worsted weight. I'm working towards the last corner of my second blanket using Simply Soft. It's nice and heavy, but takes forever. I'm worried I'll have to sacrifice weight for time saved

@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
I don't have one personally, but this one on Red Hearts website (www.redheart.com/free-patterns/crochet-corner-corner-throw) should have the same pattern. If you use a self striping yarn like I did or if you use a solid and don't want stripes, you can just ignore their instructions to change colors. Thanks for watching!

@ExperimentsinCrafting4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I live in the US, so I'm not sure that you can get it looks like the Wool Warehouse carries Bernat Blanket in the UK! I love them! I don't see the Bernat Blanket Stripes yarn that I used in this video, but Bernat Blanket is the same but only one color or one variegated colorway and I you can choose any colors and join them to make the stripes. You'll even solve some of the issues that I complained about (like wonky stripes). Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

I’ve tried the stitch so many times I don’t know why but mine always flare on the sides. What can I be doing wrong?
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
If I had to guess you might be bunching them all together at one end of the chain space instead of evenly across the chain space? If that's the case then it would come out in blocking. If you want to share a picture with me on Facebook or Instagram, I would take a look at it and see if I can help. Thanks for watching!

I am just NOT getting this decrease. and I am considered an expert. I have taken it out 3 times and it's still not right. Maybe changing color is what confused me. I don't know.
@ExperimentsinCrafting5 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry it's not going well. I can see if I can explain it better in text? When you get to the end of the row don't do the chain 6 part. Instead turn the project and slip stitch in each stitch until you get to the nearest ch 3 space. Then Ch3 and double crochet 3 in that ch space. slip stitch to the next ch 3 space and continue the middle part of the pattern. Do this until you run out of rows. I hope this helps. Comment again if I can help with anything else! Thanks for watching!
