What a coincedence. I bought the same species yesterday. It's 1/3 the size of yours. But for 20 euro's 🙂

The lady at the garden center told me that only a few had arrived. And this one was the last. So I was lucky.

Where do you live? That would be an easy $500 tree in Texas if you can even find them.

Hi Jonny, I recently bought a dwarf Acer palmantum Englishtown the tree is already a bit over 5’ in high. I was wondering if will be safe to plant it in a raised bed planter?

Thank you for sharing your videos! Do you only water the root ball and not the leaves? I just got 3 Japanese maples and I noticed on other videos that they only water the soil/root ball and not the leaves.

Correct. Don't water the leaves.

what city did you buy your Shishi?

Thank you for very informative channel. I have free compost available by the city I live in. However, I don't think it drains fast enough to be the optimal soil for potting a Japanese maple tree. What would you recommend for making it a more suitable, faster draining soil? Add perlite in different proportions, until I get the pace of draining similar to what is seen on this video?

Add Perlite and soil conditioner (available at garden centers in bags). That is what I have been adding and I like the results so far. Mix enough until you are happy with the drainage.
