Wow great awesome show. Really enjoyed n learned from the lovely video. As I am a Bengali, and KATHA stitch is from West Bengal and Bangladesh. It's KATHA Switch ( not Kantha). Katha means light blankets made from old clothes ( specially cotton Saree ( Indian women wear 12 feet in length ) and white lungi/ Dhoti ( Indian men wear about 5 feet in length ). The old cotton cloths are soft and are hand steatch by long niddle by layering one piece over other by the elderly women / grandmother. Now a days they are very popular and costly ( as are handmade). And also for Boho home decor. With Love from SAM Guwahati Assam INDIA 🙏🥂❤

My nephew and his family are missionaries in Southeast Asia. They work with artisans who produce these beautiful pieces. The women trade their saris at the market for food and household goods. They have mountains of fabric that is then resold! My nephew’s wife goes to the market and goes through the fabric, purchases it and brings it back to the workroom for the artisans to create quilts, scarves, shoulder bags, placemats, table runners and all kinds of things! The things are sold here in the states to raise money for their community. The colors and patterns are beautiful! This is ongoing, so her products that she is selling would be considered modern creations. However, truly works of art!

Those kantha quilts are indeed a beautiful fit for “boho” decor but they’re doubly (triply?) interesting because so many of the pieces of cloth were handmade with hand-carved block prints.

Good evening, George! Those Beethoven and Mozart vases were fantastic! They would look really good on a mantle. I'd love to have that English tea cart. There is NO WAY I'd EVER put paint on it. There was what looked to be a spelter statue behind the Don Quijote figure I liked. Was that necklace with the roses and cameo carved coral? It had a nice look to it. Loved that ship model on the dry sink. Those firkins are nice, but they're something tha hasn't captured my interest very much. One would be nice to have, though. I really like that wicker shopping cart! It would look good with a floral arrangement in it. Loved EVERY ONE of the wax seals! It would be easy to go broke in that one showcase! That looked to be a fantastic show!!! Thanks for the tour!!!!!
@TheAntiqueNomad2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't paint it either, but I hope those who would at least would pick one that was already imperfect. The necklace was carved coral, I liked that one very much! Ship models remind me of my dad, I'd have one in a certain type of decor. Funny thing, firkins appeal to me in terms of style but not function. I knew you would be the one who loved wax seals, I was so excited to be able to show and tell about those! You are most welcome, I hope you get some rest from the heavy Spring tending.
