Actually all immortals can technically annex other immortal apertures, it is just that they can only annex smaller sized apertures and it isn't beneficial for them usually due to conflicting dao marks. The benefit of the sovereign immortal aperture in this regard is the huge size and non-conflicting dao marks, there isn't any rule about annexing higher ranked apertures I believe.

One funny part of this "non-confliction" thingy is when *Spoiler* Our main character was busying with making deals, a fire rain - a perfectly normal weather phenomenon in Red Heaven of his aperture fall through the rock belts in Orange and etc until it's literally snowball into fiery astroid rain that of the worse Heavenly Tribulations magnitude, almost destroy everything in one of his earthly realm At later explains, That horrendous diester can be automatically cancelled itsel out as soon it hit the rock belts because of Fire Dao mark conflict with Rock mark but because they don't, they all just renforce each other, basically adding fire to a boulder

About the 9 heavens, correct me if I’m wrong, but I am pretty sure it was mentioned that the white heaven and black heaven are day and night respectively, and making the white heaven accessible in the day and the black heaven at night. Thus during the time before there were only 2 heavens there were 9 times of the day which the sky swapping between the 9 heavens making a full day have more than day and night.

I speculated about this!!! I don't know if it's mentioned earlier or later, because I don't remember reading it, but I was so certain that the "heavens" corrolated with the color of the sky based on the time of day when FY started using star path abilities to interact with the stars in "black heaven." It also makes sense that the word for sky in chinese can be the same as heaven.

In the stories, that was exactly what happened back in the olden days of Gu world - the sky would change colours throughout the day according to rainbow colours until a child of the Original Human(i dont know how to say his name in english) wreck the 7 heavens, leaving only the black and white - night and day standing

I just came up till date with the english translation at 2167 chapters, I hope the author finished his work and didn't abandoned us foreign readers I enjoyed reading this novel through out, its philosophical and i can in a way understand why it was ban in china not that i back up the decision but you have no idea how a book can influence people. I enjoyed the eighty eight true yang building arc particularly the last battled with Gian sun will and his inability to kill Ma Hong yi and Zhao Lian yun because of the action of luck, it was so funny🤣 Also the later chapters and his craftiness with attitude Gu Seriously this was a very good read

you have forgot the biggest flaw is that Because the body was created by a rank 9 Gu and not a rank 10 Gu it is not perfect and so has an intrinsic defect: the need for consuming, or more specifically annexing the immortal apertures of other Gu Immortals corresponding to the body's user's cultivation level. For example, at the time of his rank 6 cultivation, Fang Yuan had to eat the corresponding rank 6 immortal apertures, at rank 7 he had to eat rank 7 ones and so on

Spoiler Alert Correction: Although it is easier to reach rank 5 gu master realm with a higher aptitude, its actually not what influences a gu immortal ascensions success or the strength of the immortal aperture after ascension. What influences this is the production of "human qi" within every gu masters body. This qi is produced naturally by a human as they experience life, go through difficulties or fortunate opportunities, and from the progress in their understanding of the grand dao (fire path, water path, earth path, etc.). The more life experiences and cultivation comprehensions they obtain while as a gu master directly effect the quantity of human qi and indirectly effect the quantity of heaven and earth qi they can equalize it with. For example: Fang Yuan only managed to ever increase his aptitude to B grade in his first life. Even then, because he had experienced hundreds of years of grueling cultivation, he was able to create a high grade blessed land from his mortal aperture. Both the rate of time and the quantity of space are directly proportional to the amount of heaven and earth qi he can contain while ascending. Only in special cases will this be effected by outside means, namely if the gu master ascends towards Space Path, where they get alot more spacious immortal aperture, or time path, which gives them a faster rate of time than normal.

I've read 100-200 Wuxia novels and 1000+ novels in the fantasy genre in general, but truly nothing compares to RI, at least in terms of depth of well... everything. As deep as the ocean, as wide as the ocean. I tried comparing it towards the diversity of interesting cultivation treasures/resources from "I Shall Seal The Heavens" or the fleshed out nature of cultivation from "Supreme Magus" (my two favorite fantasy genre books for these specific aspects), but even then as much as I love those books, theres just something missing in terms of "depth". Everything has meaning in RI, and nothing is explained without intent. Thanks for the video btw, I like your narration style

Devouring apertures is often used theme. In age of adept, there is kind of vosmoc fish, who can devour even gods. In warlock of the magus world eating and absorbing is present too. Thief venerable and limitless get this expliot on their ow, using their respectable paths. Absorptions is just too good way to quickly empower a character. Other overused theme is some kind of space where time runs faster.

It needs food but non-human food from what I remember. I believe it does need air but it likely excels at breath holding. I don't think it ages, but the user will die if they reach the end of their lifespan.

I do know that Spectral Soul Demon Venerable "died" but he was able to leave parts of his soul behind to continue his will. Based on that, I would say natural lifespan is not in an immortal's body, nor in their soul, but determined based on their immortal aperature, as that's the most definitive measurement of "who" an individual cultivator is. You can leave behind a will, you can leave behind a soul, your body will die when your lifespan is extinguished unless your body is a Gu or Gu material, but when you "die" your aperature becomes a natural resource of sorts found either in the 9 heavens or "earth"

@@ContentSavant I mean let's be honest, what did fang yuan do that was good through evil acts? he altered some peoples fate meaning they lose out on fortuitous encounters. He killed many people for gains and don't even mention the slaughter this man committed. I mean the only thing I can think of was working together with a few immortals to destroy fate gu( since it keeps messing with people's lives). Also, I only read up to about 600 pages and so far, this guy is a villain protagonist. There's no big bad to kill, no evil organization, and not even changing the world via the suffering being caused. This dude is just someone who transmigrated trying to become immortal because his past life sucked. What I really liked about reverend insanity is that he is using his limited past experience to transcend his crappy fate and is successful even after the setbacks and BS that happens along the way. He does not have people helping him and even if he does, they want something in return. He literally is going full on in on benefits but throughout the course of the novel, he gets scraps for his hard work and planning. So, from what I read Fang yuan does not seem to be a Anti-hero, even his actions are for self and not for others benefit.

@@ContentSavant Another thing I like about Fang Yuan is that he uses cunning and wit to defeat enemies stronger than him. There are some many Xianxia novels which depict their MC's as powerful as fuck and only needing a few moves to kill their enemies. It's very funny especially if the MC is depicted as a underdog, even though through heaven's will and "Heaven-defying luck" he beats young masters who's only backing are their cronies and faction. Reverend insanity, Journey of the fate destroying emperor, and aspiring to the immortal path, are the only novels I have found that has a mc who is intelligent and cunning. The Mc's of these novels are average in terms of strength but makes up for it through their experience, wisdom, and intelligence. They will more often than not use strategy and cunning to defeat foes who are stronger than them. They don't rely on luck half the time and if they do then it's just for support or a slight boost, they do not rely on it to the point that if you take away their wisdom and intelligence then they would have died countless times. I would rather have a million Fang Yuan's, Wang Wei's, and Tang Jie's than your cookie cutter MC's who are stupid, foolish, perverted, hypocritical, arrogant, and self-righteous pricks who aren't even real cultivators. How can you be going against Heavens will and Fate, if you are benefitting from their arrangements?
