Diane’s soothing voice is expressive, adding to the creative sounds of paint on paper ~ echoing the delicate, tranquility of her joy in teaching us to appreciate art and to let us explore our own interpretations and styles. You can definitely count on me to write more than five words! Haha! The reason why I watch your tutorials is because (1) I love your art studio, to me it looks kind of like a TV show fantasy (that’s just me) but I love how it’s separate from your house. I dream of having something similar some day. Second reason I love your channel is because of the style of art you make. I need loose in my life and I recall from one of your tutorials you saying “it’s okay to go outside the lines.” Another reason is because you share your life with us, your pets and animals and how you sometimes capture the outside scenery, you really have a great channel, a wonderful personality and I love how we’re in the same age group. A lot of these youngsters do that speeding their vids and I end up closing out and try find something I like. Art is supposed to be an adventure, not something to be sped up!! When I watch you, Diane, I feel like you could be sitting right next to me and we’re sharing stories while we paint and have fun. So, on this note, I will be looking for your next video. Thank you!❤

Diane, I love the colors of today's video. Recently, you've been discussing speeding up the video or not. I realized that I tune in not only to watch you paint but also to listen to your commentary, the weather, the animals, your husband's travels, the neighbors and their cat, where you used to live, etc. It's fun for us to get to know you and your philosophy of life and painting. I watch every video and try most. I never thought I'd do the pot plants but it was one of my favorites ever. See? We can all try new things and you inspire us to do so.

I appreciated your comments on using larger paper. I usually use smaller sheets. Think i get overwhelmed by the thought of large sheets. I will try to move on from that ridiculous inhibition. Thanks for all you do and all the effort you put into your channel. I agree with you that larger sheets of paper can be daunting. For this reason I always suggest beginners start with smaller sheets of paper and as we move more into discussing composition we can allow for more “space” as needed. Plus, good quality cotton paper can be expensive when starting out but cutting it in half can double its value! Also, we never throw anything away as there are multiple ways to incorporate it in other projects. 😊
@DianeAntoneStudio
@DianeAntoneStudio Жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s necessary to use cotton paper to make great art. One of my favourite famous artists now departed never used anything except Bockingford which is cellulose and I believe a large sheet will help people loosen up. How can you paint loose on a piece of paper 5 x 8 inches? Which is what many people are working on! Lol.

I wasn't sure I'd love this painting, but I absolutely do. I kept whispering to you, add some berries, and lo and behold, you did! I was wishing for some red berries for contrast for the browns, but when you added the black or sepia, they did the trick anyway. I admire your ability to stop for a minute and think, then come up with a new addition to add. I thought the wavy lies you added on the right somehow added a lot of interest. I'll give that a whirl in my own paintings. Very enjoyable and inspiring too. Thank you, Diane. XOXOJANE

Wonderful! I honestly think it’s helpful to sometimes paint large, and you don’t need to use expensive paper either if you paint in the style I’ve been teaching. Thank you for suggesting to use a large sheet of paper to improve loose strokes. I have always preferred to use smaller pieces of paper, but what you said about the utility of using a large sheets makes total sense, and I never thought of it that way. Thank you! ❤ To edit: also love the rose and ochre and their cousins!

Another enchanting and informative tutorial Diane. Every time I watch your tutorials I come away inspired. I have never thought of mixing the gold paint with my watercolours I just tend to use it for embellishing or outlining, so I will definitely try this out. As I have said many times your tutorials are so relaxing I often feel like I’m sitting on a huge soft comfy chair with a hot chocolate in my hands when I watch you paint as I totally unwind which is such a wonderful way to feel. Then when your finished I feel so inspired that I must go and have a go at what you have just painted, or I have a snooze 😂. You are an amazing artist, person and advisor of art Thankyou for all you do and all Tamzin does behind the scenes. Xx❤

Bob Ross used to say "ya have to learn how to stop, cuz it gets to feeling good, and you wanna keep going..." when it came to painting trees. And he's right! It's hard to stop, as you said today, Diane. FYI: the divided ceramic palette you used today is $2 cheaper if you order from Meeden rather than Amazon. I'm weary of feeding my hard-earned dollars into their gigantic virtual ATM's, so I went for it, even though it will take longer! Ha! There you are Amazon! Anyway, thank you for another soft and lovely painting on this sunny Sunday! :) Fanna

Amazon does not always have the lowest prices. Meeden is great to let you know if a product is out of supply and they tell you approximately how long it will take to be back in their warehouse. I don’t mind waiting!

You don't know how much I needed this video today it is nice relaxing how can we get out of the dodgers and coming? My I don't know I guess my angry nerve today so thank you so much. I learned so much about paints and the paintbrushes and how to make them and I appreciate that so much I am out of the hospital now. I'm still recovering and I appreciate all that you do in the effort. You put in to the work that you, too. It is really refreshing to see someone in love with what they. You do and I mean that in a nice way. So please take it as such, yohh. Except for tea and joy and painting comes through. In all you do, and thanks so much. We appreciate it AJ and I look forward to your videos and I paint as much as I can I'm. A beginner and there is so much to learn. But I just love how water color is just so versatile. And so bdifficult and even I can do it. If the words have come out wrong in this thing? It's because my phone will not necessarily say what I have said. Word-for-word on here so I hope nothing. That has been offensive as come through if it has fleece forgiven excuse alright? I know your family I hope you're well. I hope you're well and have a good evening or day wherever. You ar

This was so relaxing and creative. Diane brings up several excellent tips (and you don't have to use all the materials she uses -- you can improvise using the colors and tools you have on hand). The way Diane instructs is always calming and there are no "have to do it this way!" She alwys suggests so that you (the student) can bring your own ideas and intuition to your art.

The perfect video for painting along with you today Diane! Simple and elegant and beautiful as always. We've had a sick doggie. Today he feels much better! But I'm suffering from sleep deprivation and exhaustion from worry. I haven't painted in a few days because I've been so stressed by his illness. But this video! I can do this! And let the healing begin. That you for all you do for us Diane. And big thanks to Tamsin too!

I am engaged and enjoying the peacefulness of this artwork. It reminds me of an underwater scene during a pink sunset. I'm inspired to incorporate this into one of your World Watercolor Month Prompts! I like that yours are a little more detailed and still allow my mind to wander creatively. The official one word prompts often give me too many ideas so I don't know where to begin or I'm stumped altogether!
