Thanks....Yeah it has come a long way, reminds me quite a bit of Blender and all this years later is doing incredibly well. The team is really nice too.

You can import your rigs actually, you should look into their KZbin channel they have plenty of tutorials.

Hey , i really appreciate your youtube channel, you cleared up lot of my questions about pursuing animation. However, i have an important question . im still under 20 years old, as a kid i always dreamt of getting game characters to life and put countless hours e.g in games gmod etc, now that i have the very basic fundamentals of 3D and blender, including the principles of animations, i want to know if a gameplay animator rather use maya or blender in indie up to AAA studios..? Ive been really split up between maya or blender to start honing my animation skills, since i can get maya for 3 years completely free (student license). Also i found out that tutorials on game animations specifically are not alot at all, especially beginner ones that explain them.

Hey IMG, thanks for the support and for the great comment. And that's a really fair question, especially at the start of your journey. Although Blender is a brilliant software, I recommend using Maya as your main animation software. The reason why is that 99.9% of the AA and AAA studios out there use Maya for their game pipelines. There are quite a few reasons why. So the faster you get used to Maya the easier it is for you to snap that job as one of the questions you will get is what is your main software when you are animating, not having to learn Maya is always a bit of a bonus for studios as you are already familiar. I made a video a while back explaining some of this; check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4PJZ6SBg559g8k In regards to tutorials for Gameplay Animators specifically, I did a few here in the channel, but I intend to release courses specifically for this as it's a question and need that comes up quite often. Keep it locked for more news don't hat front.

Damn! IMPRESSIVE! We all stuck with Maya, Blender and Max and I feel like I was living inside a cave now. This is EXACTLY how the Ai should have helping us! You have tried it with raw mocap you said? Can it autoclean to a certain point the data? eg. can it autoclean more or less the 90% of it? Or in a multi-charater scene with interaction can it make that impressive interaction cleaning that my jaw dropped when you mentioned it? I haven't tried Maya2025 yet. Do you believe that it is worth our time to invest on learning Cascadeur? because after all is an investment.. Or soon enough this tech will come to maya or Unreal animation?
@harveynewman3 күн бұрын
Hey Alex, and yeah we dabbled with Mocap as well as it's another feature they revealed late last year and it's pretty good still need improvements. There's a lot of automated features but you have to pick and choose, we found that in the right circumstances it saves a bunch of time. Might be worth a try if you have spare moment as it's free to try. They have quite a few tutorials on their YT channel. I think it's worth you giving it a try for sure...it's free in comparison to Autodesk products for 30 days, so if you have a low month with lots of spare time then give it a try and see if it helps. I think is super handy for gameplay animations as it removes some of the repetitive work. Make sure you use the discounts if you decide to purchase for the best deals. ;) I'm not sure if this tech will ever come to Maya and Unreal, maybe unreal one day as engines are masters at physics but we are far away as they are focusing on the basics for now.

@@alexmaniotis2352 you aren't living in cave, you live in 2010. Cascadeur is worse than quickmagic.
