Being fast both with and without the ball is essential in the modern game. Being fast off the ball allows you to create space to be in a better position when the ball arrives, and being fast with the ball makes you more difficult to defend against. In today's training session we work on some drills that improve your speed on and off the ball.

I am actually using some of the drills you show, on my U6/U7 kids, all be it in a simplified form, but using them none the less. Most of them see the drills as fun with the ball doing something diffrent, but two of them are just taking off skillwise. Big thumbs up from me :)

Love your videos man, they help me out so much! I've always been good on the ball, but it's been my fitness that has bitten me in the butt sometimes. I hate knowing I have the ability technically, but physically, it's lacking at times. Would love to see more fun drills that focus on fitness and endurance. Cheers from the Bay Area in CA

Guillermo Barrios don’t know if is necessarily fun but it does make you feel accomplished, try out the John Terry fitness drill! It really sucks at first but overtime you’ll notice how much more fit you’ll get

Thanks so much for uploading your videos! I find them very helpful. I’ve only being playing football for a month and a half and I played in my first tournament yesterday (U15 Girls). Hey man I need some advice . So I am a big guy and I could be lean . I am willing enough to eat clean and stick to a workout program religiously . So the only thing I have access is to a pair of dumbbells and I workout in the morning . Please put a complete weekly schedule containing workouts with bodyweight and the pair of dumbbells . And I will stick to them , eat clean and get leaner for football . I was introduced to football at 18 and from then on I started practicing and I could do skills that most of my friends in the team( I am not ) couldn't but I don't have sufficient physical capabilities. Please provide a workout . Been looking for it but couldn't get a specific one . I need improvement in agility , strength and other physical aspects . Help would be much appreciated

Yes mate, you can combine them all in your drills. Disguising fitness with technical work is a great way to train.

I run about 3-5 KM in fitness work but when i play a match i immediatly get tired.My mouth becomes sticky,and i feel very exhausted.WHY?

Yash Chopra add some sprint work with changes in direction like in the video. Being able to run long distances is important but you aren’t going to be running at a consistent pace for the whole game. Hope this helps!

Fitness for football is more than just running at one constant speed. You should try to implement interval training into your fitness routine (I have videos on my channel for your). It involves changes of speeds which is more specific to the game.
