Quick note: If you have multiple track layers to your video, such as titles, some video overlays, pictures, etc. Davinci will render all of the video track parts separately. (Example: You have a video on track 1 and you cropped some video overlay and put it on track 2 on top of the video track 1, davinci will separately render the video on track 1 and overlay on track 2 as two separate videos). You need to select all the track parts which you want to be included in that clip, right click and then press "New Compound Clip" at the top. It will merge the clip parts together. You can bind it to any button for ease of the process, because you will have to repeat it for each separate clip (which has extra track parts to it, but you don't want it to render separately).

This is great, I am an urban explorer and some years ago (when I was 15) I randomly saw your Asylum timelapse on Vimeo and it was probably one of the main pieces of media that inspired me to become a filmmaker, with hopes that I could maybe one day make videos as cool as that. 6 years have passed and I stumble upon you again while researching this specific export setting I need for a project. You don't have to select "add source frame count to filename" in order for Davinci to render all the clips individually. Under "add a unique name as" you can set that as "suffix" instead of "prefix" and it will add a unique number count at the end of the file name.

This is a great video explaining how to export individual clips. Thank you; it has helped me a lot. I just have a question about re-using the exported individual clips. If I want to re-use the exported clips in a new video project timeline, will the video quality be reduced by rendering those clips a second time in that new project?
@District7DrewGeraci2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It all depends on what codec(s) you use to export. If you're exporting to a long-gop (h264/265) then you'll see a loss of quality, but if you do a lossy/lossless/uncompressed codec like DNxHR, ProRes, DPX, etc then you'll retain 99% of the quality of the video. Hope that helps!
@4propfilms2 жыл бұрын
@@District7DrewGeraci Yes. That helps a lot, Drew. I will export the good bits of my footage as individual clips using the DNxHR codec (I am using windows) and then use those clips in my final video project. Thanks again.

Thanks for watching! If you just want to export 1 single clip you're best to use the standard render method but choose "in and out points" for the range of the clip (and just make sure your clip is between those in and out points). Super simple and I hope that helps!

Hey Drew! Awesome content man! Hey you're an expert at this stuff and nobody else seems to have a clue about this, but is there a way to make a video file that is compatible with vr headsets (now or future) that contains dual 4k 10 bit running at 120 fps? Assuming you could simultaneously record on two cameras spaced at some standard IPD. It seems too obvious to me that this is how we could watch KZbin and movies and virtually be there, in the studio with Linus (lol), and have true 3d movie experiences. You would of course be locked into the perspective of the camera, but I think that would be ok. Would you have any idea how to do that? Or if it's even possible?

@District7DrewGeraci3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! As for removing the V1 from the title, no, can't remove it completely from the title but you can click "Suffix" under "Add a unique name as" and it will put the V1 at the end of the filename, instead of the front. That's about the only thing you can do. If you do want to remove it completely though, just use Adobe Bridge to batch rename all of your clips and that will work too.
