The 2025 Lexus ES is a luxury sedan that focuses on comfort and quietness. Its interior is calm and relaxing, with a soft suspension and many standard features. You can choose from three different engine options: a basic four-cylinder, a powerful V-6, and a fuel-efficient hybrid. If you're looking for a smooth and peaceful driving experience, the ES is a great choice. However, if you want a more exciting drive, this car might not be for you. Lexus has tried to add some sportiness with its F Sport trims, but the changes make the ride less comfortable without making the car much more fun to drive. Still, the Lexus ES remains popular because it offers great value compared to more expensive European sedans, even though it's not the most thrilling car to drive. For those on a budget, the Toyota Camry is a similar car with two hybrid options and many of the same features for about $10,000 less.
The 2025 Lexus ES has a starting price of $43,215, and with different trims and options, the price can go up to $53,505. When deciding on a trim, we recommend upgrading to the ES350 with the Ultra Luxury package. This version really highlights the car’s strengths as a luxury vehicle. It includes special 18-inch wheels, high-end leather seats, a hands-free power trunk, and a power rear sunshade. You also get a wood-and-leather steering wheel. Choosing this trim means you also need to add the Navigation package, which upgrades the screen to a larger 12.3-inch display and includes built-in navigation, voice controls, a DVD player, and Lexus’s Enform Destination Assist service.
The Lexus ES offers three different engines. The ES250 comes with a 203-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and has all-wheel drive as standard. The ES350 features a stronger 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 302 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This version drives the front wheels. The hybrid ES300h has a combined output of 215 horsepower from a four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. It uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and comes with front-wheel drive. The ES focuses on delivering a comfortable and smooth driving experience, making it appealing to buyers who prioritize ride quality over sporty handling. If you prefer a sportier feel, the F Sport trim does offer larger wheels and a firmer suspension, but it doesn’t make the ES as agile as competitors like the BMW 5-Series.
Inside, the Lexus ES offers a stylish, well-built cabin that feels luxurious. There’s plenty of legroom in both the front and rear seats, and the seats themselves are very comfortable. The interior is also incredibly quiet, even at higher speeds, providing a relaxing space for all passengers. The trunk offers 17 cubic feet of space, which is more than some competitors like the Volvo S90 and Acura TLX, though the lack of folding rear seats makes it harder to transport larger items.
Technology in the Lexus ES is also top-notch. Standard features include an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 10-speaker sound system. Amazon Alexa and Bluetooth are also included. For more advanced tech, you can opt for the larger 12.3-inch screen. Safety features are equally impressive, with Lexus’s Safety System+ 2.5 providing automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control.
