Awesome Lindsay. Not a fun time to be living in the eu these days. How fun you do their national flower. Its so sad for farmers there, it's sowing season and seeds of sunflowers are used for sunflower oil and they dont get any sowing done, bc all the fields are bombed to shreds and if not bombed sowing is about last thing on your mind with constant sound of alarm. Its heartbreaking to hear and see and so lovely you used their flower for a fundraiser, love you for it

@@PatriciaPageMosaicArtsCrafts Credit where credit is due. It is so hard to stay positive in the eu ( the covid test result is about as positive as it get's here,lol ) these days, if not climate crisis, then war, then housing crisis. Its a relief to see a positive note between crazies & their tinfoil. But that is why I like YT so much as union and labor volunteer. Nice for balance to prevent insanity hahaha

Wonderful video and astonishing cause too! I have sat and watched a whole sunflower field as the "faces" of the flowers moved along and "looked" towards to sun! I have never been able to do much free form watercolor painting. I wanted to breakout and try some impressionistic style of painting and I went to soft pastels. I wanted to learn a new medium (to me) and I was told this was a very good way to recover and grow mentally! I believe it is one reason why Art is recommended as a therapy it does expand your mind. I am NOT in the market for new watercolors but I will donate to one of the Ukrainian causes. I hope others of your viewers do as well. Thank you for keeping a light on the troubles there!

Thanks Lindsay. The paint pen really made the middle flower head pop. The marks and petals spilling over on the lower flower are stunning. The stem on the left coming from the upper left flower head has my brain all kinds of confused. I want to put the two together when maybe they are unrelated. This brain confusion is typical with me and flowers and why I infrequently want to paint them. Aaaack.🙃🤪
@thefrugalcrafter2 жыл бұрын
no, you are right about the stem, I must have changed directions somewhere between concept and finishing the flower because I turned him LOL!

Love the look you achieved. I didn’t really need anymore watercolors, but what the heck you gave me a good reason to try them and the soft pastels too. Now I can’t wait to see how the two mediums might play together

This painting for me Lindsay, is the NICEST...I have ever seen from you...I LOVE when you do paintings, without a reference photo...I love your free style and knowing what you are looking for next...thank you also , for thinking of the Ukrainians...wish I could just bring a bunch of them to my house , in The Yukon Canada for safety...grew up with them Ukrainians at the cottage in the 60's and they are still my friends to this day, and on Face Book with them...the loveliesty of people...the gardening and the food they make and offer you any time of the day...yep they like to feed you...I was fortunate @ 7 years old and upwards...to eat REAL PEDAHA { Perogies hand made..} AND REAL BORSCHT...offered in the middle of the afternoon at the cottage in Ontario...I do pray for this war in Ukraine to end...and the Russians, to be given orders by the UN...I have too many paints , but would like to support in some way, other than buying more paints...hope I find that in your blurp underneath...have a nice day Lindsay, and thank you for all you do for this watercolour community. It worked out so well. I envy your freedom with paint. I clam up with it immediately and everything is still and tight. Oh well. The end result is so colourful and cheerful. My only disappointment is how much the alcohol bleached the centres of the flowers. They were fabulous to me when they had the darks in them.

I got lots of good ideas from this video. I have a few Renesans tubes and they’re great paints. The Indian Yellow is particularly beautiful. I’ve been wanting a couple of their granulating colors since you did your granulating palette video. Maybe this would be a good time to order them.
