I think we cannot be happy alone. Happiness is meaningful connection with people and animals. But, if you feel happy by yourself, I think it's because you know you have others in your life.

I don't believe in "happiness." It is such an overused word and, in many respects, a vacant term that is really meaningless --- for me. I am not interested in being "happy" as it is unrealistic and sets up a subtext that not only am I not enough but I am clearly doing something wrong -- if I am not "happy." Nonsense ! I live my life -- come what may -- and enjoy moments of pure joy! I can recognize those moments, appreciate them and when they come along, they are my treasure. The rest of this is nothing more than marketing! I don't subscribe to marketing.

I don't believe in tips and recommendations for such a deep concept. It's actually water off a duck's back. The approach is very simplistic and disregards most people pre-existing emotional and mental state. You can't plant new seeds on contaminated soil. First, you need to clean and rebalance the individual's internal landscape and that is done with therapy and then plant new seeds ( read books) that will actually grow. They got the order wrong.
