Everyone hates the 380mm Barrage because they don't know how it works. It doesn't target the light beacon, it targets groups of enemies around it. Hear a 380mm barrage being called? Time to get the gell away from any enemies in the area.

​@@artemiseritu Bro thought he cooked like we don't have eyes and can't infer that information after seeing it once. People don't like 380mm because it doesn't do the thing it's supposed to be good at very effectively. The barrage locks you out of that area for half a minute so good luck if you're getting swarmed and you have nowhere to run but through the 380 you threw down. The smaller barrage does everything the 380 does better, and it's still not all that impressive compared to the railcannon and the laser in terms of overall utility. You'll get far more use out of an eagle centric build than either of the orbitals.

1 Helldiver can annihilate armies (and do so regularly). Throwing everything they can at a traitorous Helldiver is considered "a necessary expense"

To be fair they just want to nope out away from hostiles at that moment, as soon as you are labelled a traitor by the bureaucracy they will prefer to lose some munition rather than risk one rogue and desperate Helldivers jeopardizing the extraction. I'd figured a couple of shells is nothing to a full blown aircraft.

@@iggytheincubus I hate to say it but canonically helldivers are not one man armies. They're pretty much disposable bodies on the ground used to interface with terminals and deploy stratagems, they are absolutely not expected to survive. In the tutorial the game even shows that helldivers have a 27% combat readiness score and 21% expected survival rate. One destroyer probably wipes out a bug army singlehandedly, but Helldivers are not like 40k ultramarines, they're just the on the ground extension of the destroyer. Destroyers keep a ton of frozen helldivers in cargo for a reason, and honestly since we control a new helldiver every time they die it might be more accurate to say the 'players' are the destroyers and not the individual helldivers.

i did something similar. i got chased out of bounds by two hulks. the two hulks were destroyed... then i ran back to extraction screamimg "I AM THE STRATAGEM. and ran around the extraction point for a few seconds. i got told to go away by my team for some reason

Sometimes the game bugs out and you find yourself well outside of the bounds due to god knows what. What’s more is the objective areas are often right on the border, which is dumb because it forces you into detection range of enemies sometimes if you are doing a stealth run. I usually try to pop holes and factories from a good distance away but if the factory is at the edge of the map and faced toward the edge I am forced to get up close and personal and detected.

You get credit for the kills from the orbital strikes trying to kill you. Once had a 128 kill streak from that! Damned teammate (waiting for reinforcement timer to go down) throws the strategem as FAR as he can... Outside the map! I couldnt get back in time, but I sure as hell had fun 'covering' my allies withdrawal as orbital HE rounds were raining down around me.

That's weird. The strtagems cancel out if you throw them outside the map. I think you just steered your hellpod the wrong way when you were really close to the edge.

I extracted as a traitor once. I got thrown out of bounds by some explosion, and I was thrown FAR. Somehow survived (without democracy protects) a huge fall and impact. Ran back but I couldn't get back in zone quick enough, but I still extracted.

For the confused comments, that last guy who stopped right before getting in and then died didn't get stuck or mess around.
