“I feel like this might be a bit too risky.” Eloise, totally an expert on paints: “yeah!”

Painting tip! Don’t select your color from swatches at the store. You can purchase the paint colors in small samples, and paint them onto white poster boards, or card stock, and tape them up on each wall to see how the colors look on each wall in different lighting. The swatches in the store are never a true indication of the actual paint color. Also, you can browse Pinterest and tons of blogs on paint swatches and recommendations used from other people and you can “color match” any brand of paint. You just tell the hardware store the name and they will have the code! Highly recommend doing this ahead of time to save yourself from losing your mind trying to decide paint color and end up not liking it after all that work! I’m super picky with paint colors and will pick up between 5-10 different paints just so I know for sure I will like it! The room turned out so beautiful 💛 I love your style! Can!t wait to see the new house!!

A pry bar 😉. I learned so much by having my hubby show me how to use all the tools we’ve collected over the years. I learned not to be afraid of them, and how to use them safely, and no judgement when I messed up. I’m surprised your homestores don’t sell the much smaller sample paints. Here in the US you can get them for just a few $, but I’m guessing you wanted at least one whole wall done. Paint color makes the biggest impact, I think, so it’s important to get it right, and worth spending the extra money if you don’t get it right the first or even second time.

This is me every time I work with wood (and yes I'm the "handyman" of our household, haha!). Currently re-trimming our house in beautiful Douglas fir to recreate the original style that was removed years ago...and the aroma of the fir lumber is HEAVENLY... I also smell every book before reading it. New books, old books, it's always a good mood...
