You are so young, triple tone was big back in the day. 200.00 for a G body is a steal. The car is fixable.
@fishrrelaxing93617 жыл бұрын
The best budget racer has always been the G body.. that aside.. all the rust holes are just weight savings 😉 prob 2/10's worth lol. Long as the frame is decent you're golden!

I Really Love your channel! A Show of this kind helps us car guys to see the reality that we could put an LS into a car project we have a lot of interest in. Thanks SO Much for all your information! I would love to go to the wrecking yards with you to help, learn and pull parts and enjoy myself. Some guys go hunting, fishing, or... I like making it go fast and stop and most of all Handel!

I'm doing the same thing. I bought an 03 Silverado for the motor & Transmission. $400 & got $150 at the scrap yard after I stripped everything . I got a turbo off a 6.5 GM diesel that I want to put on the 4.8. Any idea whether it'll work? or what to expect? I want to put it in my 88 Silverado. Do some head work, beef up the transmission & about 3000 stall on the convertor. Oh, and I want to mount the Turbo at the rear under the truck so I can hide everything. Sorta sleeper.
@Thehouseofboost7 жыл бұрын
I would try and find a second 6.5 turbo and run twins those turbos are pretty small to be used as a single.
@weallsobad73207 жыл бұрын
Thehouseofboost Thanks. I can get a turbo off a 6.7 Powerstroke which is much bigger. Would you use that one by itself or hook them up in a series? I'm going kind of conservative. 450-600 hp would be fantastic. From what I've read, a 4.8 will easily handle this HP & torque without any issues.

i dont know what you got for toyotas in your pull apart. a toyota rear end out of a mini truck, 4 runner or land cruiser has 30 spline shafts, 8" ring gear in a third member and are cheap. used a lot in rock buggies. you can find them with factory electric lockers too. the later models with ifs will have the wider rear end around 58 wms to wms

Yes they are pretty stout, I use to have a solid axle S10 that was on 38's with toyota axles.

I'm kinda wondering just what you were expecting for 200 bucks Now I'm not sure how many perfect car's you purchased in the past for 200 buck's but. I was waiting to see a complete rusted out bucket of crap.. But instead you have a G body with big time potential. ...I'm just a little confused about what the cash thing is all about...Because every motorhead I know learned long ago building car's is a terrible investment because 99.9% of the time what you put in .. You will NEVER see back ....
