i love house vs christians, pointing out the irrationality of it. people should certainly believe in what they wanna believe, but not at the cost of their physical health, especially when their belief has a negative impact on others, like how the fathers belief has a negative impact on his daughter. hes putting god first, which he shouldnt do ever. blood family always comes before any deity, regardless of your religion. if you god wants you to put them over your own family, thats not an all loving god. an all loving god would want you to put your family over them.

How do you think you got here? Who gave you your family in the first place? Obviously He should come first, because, if this is the God of the universe we are talking about, He knows better than us.

@@emilycooper442 i got here because my mom gave birth to me, and my mom was able to give birth to me because my dad impregnated her. my existence is not because of some higher power, its only because of basic biology. god being the creator of the universe is only a theory, same with the big bang theory, hence the name. its ignorant to say any of these theories are fully factual. even the existence of god is no more than a theory. unless someone lives alone with no close family, god should never come first in someone's life. its fine if you wanna devote lots of time to god, but make sure to devote even more to yourself and loved ones. after all, your loved ones are the only people physically there for you, all you have is a hope that god is actually there with you, nothing more.

@@Malphaswastaken the existence of an all-powerful deity is not even a theory, theories are suggested by evidence. god flies in the face of everything else we know to be true about the universe. but if one must believe in order to fill some void or scratch some itch in their psyche, the logic must at least be internally consistent. one cannot purport to believe in a loving and generous god who also afflicts children with terminal cancer and requires us to prove our faith through suffering.

@@emilycooper442 a lot of people disagree. Especially when it can’t be factually proven with concrete evidence. I’m not saying you’re wrong, because that wouldn’t be an okay thing to say. But I don’t believe him to be real, and just hearing/reading people saying that he is, won’t convince me otherwise. Regardless, I am glad for you if you’re happy in your faith.
