I'm always so surprised how House handles talking with patients. He seems like such an antisocial person but when it comes to having a serious discussion like that, he's really effective. If this was said to the wrong person, he could have made the patient cry and spiral and something tells me he knew it was the right person to say it to. He's brutally honest but that doesn't always mean sharp and depending on the patient, he applies a certain level of softness to his delivery. He's either a genius manipulator or he's actually secretly pretty empathetic.

A master empath is a master manipulator only difference is how they apply themselves, go figure. House prods and pokes people a lot and with his acute observation skills he figures out people's personalities quickly; just like any highly intelligent people do. And just like them he doesn't suffer fools. House doesn't care about dark he gets life is dark. House only gets annoyed at bullshit. Even his own bs too. It's why he tells 13 their job is figuring out health problem, cant cure stupidity. Or how he tells them treat the patient, don't treat the patient, treat the patient...He cares as a doctor but he is pragmatic and knows how to not get attached to his patients. Whatever it is get over it and make a choice. It's why he doesn't sugar coat to the kid. "You want people to tell you it was a mistake or not a big deal. But it is pretty bad and there is no changing that" Whatever it is, get over it and make a choice. It ties with his leg and how his choice was taken from him.

I hate that nobody ever tells this girl her brother's death wasn't her fault. SHE didn't kill him. her parents' negligence did. THEY are the adults, SHE was a child. they should not have put that responsibility on her and should've been criminally charged in the boy's death
@nikolaaa59883 жыл бұрын
girl looks old enough to be responsible for a small sibling tbh
@imesae34363 жыл бұрын
It's not her fault but it's undeniable she had a part in it. The difference here is that she didn't do it directly but that doesn't absolve her of that guilt

I mean I’m not saying it’s her fault but she is definitely old enough to take care of a small sibling for at least a bath session

I love house because he can be rude but he can also be sympathetic while still not sugar coating things. He tells the reality of the situation not to be mean but solely because its better than lying about the reality of the situation to make someone believe a lie

This is a great example and combination of everybody lies, and to remain objective regardless of your emotions. 13 felt betrayed, but it was her own fault for rushing to believe her after she lied. Tough spot to be in

Those who believe House is an absolute sociopath think again. Sociopaths lack empathy. But at 10:04 you can see him empathizing with that patient. Since everyone believes he is a sociopath he pretends to be one too. Like he said to that girl. He is just a little boy with whom no one wants to play so he pretends that he needs no one.

To the person who's been keeping this channel alive for so many years I just want to say thank you you popped up in my recommendations a couple days ago and I am absolutely hooked so thank you for never giving up on such an amazing show and always being there you may never see this or maybe it'll pop up for some reason because there's not really that many people who watch it but there are enough that hopefully you feel good about yourself because you should thank you

@@MaxwellsDemon9 I understand that it's part of a streaming service but there's still a person who is actively keeping this channel alive if you read through majority of the comments on any of these videos everybody says the same thing just about so no matter what someone is still keeping this channel alive even if it is under the peacock streaming service

I disagree with living a long life being the goal. Values are more important and the best people are willing to die for their values. In her case, if it was true that her parents had abandoned her and she doesn't want to be indebted to them all her life, she should have the right to follow through. I'm not sure if I agree with her on her logic, but I can see where she's coming from. _(that not being the case doesn't take away from the scenario - the whole show never happened anyway 😅)_
@SuperHothead145 жыл бұрын
This is one of the few times house just deflates. All his bravado and pompous arrogance and air is just Gone once the truth is told to him. And he isn’t exactly comforting, but he does Comfort her and get her to make the right choice.

I've seen this episode plenty of times, but watching this clip is the first time I've noticed that House looks really sad upon hearing her story.

8:17 out of all of House’s walk ins with the patients, THIS is my favorite opening line. He might as well have had the Doom OST start playing right after he said that 💀
