I have found adventure creatures to be really good in this deck, for example embereth shieldbreaker and giant killer, they get rid of threats easily, trigger magecraft, then can be played and sacrificed for cheap and returned with another spell to be cast again. like evoke but it adds flexibility if you don't have enough instants and sorceries in your hand

@Declan Hudson pro tip: try harder to not look like a bot

@Alexander Ficken, that's a really good recommendation. The adventure creatures work really well with exactly what this deck wants to do. The only reason I didn't include them is I already play with them a lot in my Queen Marchesa deck, I wanted some variety in gameplay.

Good video. I started an extus deck to play because I had pushed my other decks power a bit to much. I'm leaning toward playing extus' front side more than the back half. I'm avoiding tutor but playing combo still. Going for more of a 4 piece combo than 2 card. Using sac outlet and pitiless plunderer to get infinite triggers on a zulaport cutthroat effect. But I can use powerful orzov or boris creatures to build my board/ loop. I can dig with florian/ professional face breaker effects.

Loving this take, Im building the deck right now, although going both ways - value and tokens, looking forward to see how it performs irl.

@Atherion, that's awesome, keep me up to date on how it goes.

So I built this deck you listed here. Now with dockside extortionist banned what should I replace it with?

I like having storm kiln and chain of smog, duelcaster and twinflame in the deck they all serve more than just win cons but are good
@vex_mtg3 жыл бұрын
@CalamitiousCactus, Chain of Smog and Storm Kiln are a good combo. I wonder if the entire table will Chain of Smog each other, that would be funny.

@@vex_mtg you can target yourself over and over even with no cards left. So you make infinite treasures and therefore infinite blood avatars

Could add in some flicker effects for the ETB's to shorten the graveyard bouncing. Flickerwisp or even the new Semester's End work well for this, more expensive upgrade would ofc be Teferi's protection.

@GingerrBearrd, thanks for the recommendations, I'll have to try those out. Extus is really cool in that there's so many directions to take the deck in.

love the deck!

Thanks, I love it too. A lot of people like the backside better, but I like the front.

Interesting take. Can't say I would use it this way but it works well together. I would probably have put a tegrid in if you wanted to focus on the magecraft. Only reason I suggest that is then you could have played more hand attack and opponent sacrifice cards. Since most of the playable hand attacking is low mana cost. But again just my view. Regardless it is a nice list. Would love to see it in action.
@vex_mtg3 жыл бұрын
@Zan Lich, yeah the Tergrid direction would be pretty neat for this deck. I think she might be too mean for my play group.
@zanlich7843 жыл бұрын
@@vex_mtg true tegrid is a powerful card that draws instant hate. But I think it loses a lot of that edge in the 99 instead of leading it.

Friendly reminder that path of ancestry is a strict upgrade over the outposts, even if you have no creatures that share a type with your commander

@leon jakobsen, really appreciate the friendly reminder. I didn't know, I'm going to have to reevaluate how I build manabases now. Thanks!

Why not cheap storm cards like grapeshot?
@alexanderficken93543 жыл бұрын
yeah grapeshot is great
@vex_mtg3 жыл бұрын
@Toon Spike, I considered storm cards, but I believe it's hard to chain too many spells together in one turn because I want to cast those creatures I get back.
@eddtoon3 жыл бұрын
@@vex_mtg wouldnt grapeshot allow you to grab multiple creatures at once to do that for 2 mana
@vex_mtg3 жыл бұрын
@Toon Spike, correct, Grapeshot will allow this, but you have to cast other spells before it to trigger the storm and you have to also have good targets for the Grapeshot itself to be useful. The stars have to align too much for me to include Grapeshot.
@eddtoon3 жыл бұрын
@@vex_mtg personally ive found it to be pretty cheap in decks i have that run low curves. Like a storm = 3 tends to be worth it imo but to each their own

Negan is amazing for this deck
@vex_mtg3 жыл бұрын
@Robby Shannon, I'm not sure about Negan, the Cold-Blooded, because your commander can get chosen with his sacrifice ability.
@VampiricGamess3 жыл бұрын
When Negan enters the battlefield, you and target opponent each secretly choose a creature that player controls. Then those choices are revealed, and that player sacrifices those creatures. Whenever an opponent sacrifices a creature, you create a Treasure token.

Apologies, I read the card wrong, thanks for the clarification. Yeah, the card would be pretty good in the deck.
