The girl who was in the morgue perhaps was Mandy, the girl who overdosed at Ziegler's party, but she wasn't the woman who sacrificed herself in the mansion. Different actress, different voice (at least to my ears) and some differences in their bodies. Ziegler says she was the girl in the party, but it was the party at Ziegler's home. Eyes Wide Shut is Kubrick's most complex film. Most of the population would consider making the things impossible that are in the film. Kubrick had been thinking about the film for over 30 years, and he probably knew it will be his last film, so he made sure that it has all the things he wanted to tell. That's why it's the longest running film production in history and is in Guinness book of records. It's like the magnum opus of Kubrick's life long research. I truly hope it will get the attention it deserves, and some true geniuses would break down what they have found in the film. Just the analysis takes a near genius to unravel.
@benjamintillema35724 жыл бұрын
Funny you should mention the voice being different because it turns out that the actress playing the woman who sacrificed herself sounded to English so they dubbed her line over, with Cate Blanchett delivering the "American" dialogue.

it was intentional. Same thing with character Zigler himself that supposed to be implied the "host" of both parties as he was also the red high priest in the "lewd" party. The red cloaked guy, is rotating the censer in the opposite clockwise direction, mocking the priest's movements. Then the naked girls, are sent like the apostles to ahem... To preach the Gospel and not to mention that backwards chant in the background which if you reverse is in romanian. I know because I speak it, and it's from the Gospel, when Jesus gives a new commandment to the people! And don't forget, Kubrick died before the release of his creation.

btw- the singular is medium and the plural is MEDIA, not "mediums." "In both media" not "in both mediums." One can say "mediums" in certain contexts, but not when referring to forms of communication, like a comparing a book and.a movie- two different MEDIA. Here's the general rule: "Mediums" is the plural of "medium," unless "medium" refers to an outlet of communication. Thus, although it is correct to say "Jane's experiment involved placing bacteria in several mediums to see if they would grow," it is incorrect to say "Several mediums carried the story about the car crash in their local news segments."

After years of being an illustrious and celebrated director; what was the final word uttered in Stanley Kubrick’s last movie? “F-k!!”

Just ironic how neither partner ACTUALLY cheats on the other.....just a lot of "thinking" about it. But also ironic is how around a year after making this film, Tom and Nicole divorced for real. Interesting in that it sounds like Kubrick was closer to his source material here than he EVER was with The Shining! R-Rated this..R--Rated THAT.....We never got to see that NC-17 cut which showed crotch on crotch in the orgy.

Right, it follows the book, but my theory is that the entire film is one very large dream sequence. There is no reality in the film. Every scene from first frame to last is someone's dream, either the doctor's dream or his wife's dream, but it is a dream. The next time you watch the movie, think of it as one long dream and you'll see what I mean.

Wasn't this the movie where Tom Cruise had to take 97 shots just to walk through a goddamn door?
