Former 493rd FS pilot, F-15C. A F-15 is almost always at greater advantage the higher it is for two reasons. A 120 launched from 30k just goes farther than one launched at 10k because gravity for vs against. Second, F-15 wings and control surfaces catch air way better than most other jets. Fighting a Viper at angels 10 is a death sentence while anything above 25-30 is an absolute turkey shoot. Not sure if this flight sim correctly models or translates this. Ask any brit or french pilot whats its like trying to attack a four-ship LAB of Lakenheath F-15Cs . We can bulldoze an entire patch of sky while eating a sandwich, no g-strain required.

I think those scenarios are interesting also because they show why dogfights are not a thing of the past. Somehow, despite your best efforts at shooting people from far away, you end up merged.

My dad is a retired F-15 E pilot. The F-15 C is the one seater model with a light gray camo pattern. The F-15 E is the two seater where the co-pilot controls all the weapon systems, and its usually all dark gray in color.

It was definitely a very intense mission, with some especially great airmanship from you indeed. It's like you use the force to sense and dodge missiles at the last possible moment, even ones you don't see!

Yeah, this is why it's always good to have a wingman with you. You can't be everywhere at once, but being able to split up the work load always makes things a lot easier. Great video. I would like to see you do this mission again, but with a wingman next time. :)
