I grew up at SJAFB, good ole Goldsboro... kinda. I rode my bike almost everyday to the flight line. I would sneak through the woods to get right next to the taxiways and watch the aircraft in the early-mid 90s. There were times I'd crawl right up next to the taxiway and lay in the grass. Depending on what aircraft came by but wings would nearly go over my head. My heart would be pounding so hard, those Eagles were so awesome up close. Since when do they go back to KC-10s out there? While I was there they transfered all the KC-10s and went to only kc-135s.

I'm calling BS. I have been asked to stop photographing at the fence and you somehow crawled through and laid there while security forces drove around? Cough *bullshit*!

There is nothing more beautiful to look at aviation wise than the F-15 Eagle!

Beautiful !!! Lived just Outside Medford Ore, used to see the K-Falls F-15s a lot

I did a couple of years at the Shady J as a crew chief on the E models back in the early 90s. I didn't see the last jet I was "assigned to" in the video though, 89-0485. A bit of Google-fu shows it is still at SJ but no longer in the 335th.

Very sad so many F-22 got badly damage when they weren't able to fly out of the base in Florida a few years ago when that hurricane struck. Never heard how many had to be scrapped.

Those f-22s that were damaged were at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, this is Goldsboro North Carolina.

@@Erik-rp1hi From what I understand, about 15 or so were damaged. Some of them were damaged more than others, but all of them have since been repaired and back flying.
