You're thinking of the 1970s. The Chinese armed forces have made huge advances in the last few decades. Some of their stuff is cutting edge. Good luck in a naval battle against a modern Chinese carrier group and destroyers... it's going to be a 50/50 tossup, depending on who has the most missies. We underestimate the ruthlesless, single-mindedness and the industrious of the CCP at our peril.

I’m actually surprised at how effortlessly the Blue Team swept this engagement - we all know the F-22 is phenomenal almost to the point of being OP, but with how many Red Team J-11s and J-20s they went up against as well as the huge number of PL-12 and PL-15 missiles they carry, I thought at least some of them would have survived and gotten close enough to either engage the Raptors in a dogfight or take a potshot at one of the B-21s and score a luckily kill on the bombers.

The most amusing thing about this video would be the part where the RedFor aircraft likely wouldn't have taken off. How far forward was GS when he turned away, and still had _no_ nails from SAM? They wouldn't have known they were under attack to even try a scramble until it was quarter past too damn late. That's what make 5th Gen and 6th Gen so frightening to me. A fun video, but I have few quibbles: That's an absurdly large attack for one air base, like by a factor of five or six at least. I think there would have been several HARMs going in ahead of time to take out the S-300/400 first. There would have been a hundred or more PL-15 missiles on their way to F-22s from the J-20s and the Flankers. I think the Chinese have electro-optical systems, meaning F-22s would be hit with no RWR alert. I don't recall seeing any F-22s downed.

Navy’s AIM-174 has 200 mile range? Has it been modeled for DCS? If public info is accurate, it brings a whole new meaning to bvr.

The publicly available info gives it a range of approximately 250 miles, so probably closer to 300 (who knows what the undisclosed max range could be). What's crazy is it's known max range is actually further than the radar range of the Super Hornet, so it has to rely on sensor data from other assets in order to target enemies at the max range of the missile.

I always thought the raptor looks like a flying boat / I know that’s because of the 45 degree angles and stealth profile but it still takes some effort to like it for it’s appearance / but it has grown on me

Yeah agreed I'm still making the effort to like it, to me Su-57 and F-35 look better.

The only issue with that strike package. The airfield can still be used. Nothing hit the runways or taxi ways. So, in my books, the strike was unsuccessful.
