Yeah,the eagle is a BVR monster, but when it comes to dogfighting it’s a sitting duck

@@giannizen3775 True the F15 is great in BVR against other 4th gen aircraft (it's also very good in a dogfight - if it had HMD with Aim9x as the real F15c now has it would be a beast). But as the original post said it is the same gap as fighting an F4 against an F16 or F15 - the generation improvements are massive. In BVR the F15 would struggle to even detect the F22, let alone successfully engage it. Actually I think the F18 would have the best chance in a merge against the F22 - it could point its nose and potentially get off an early Aim9x.

I worked on the F22 @ Seattle R&D Facility. Primary job was Center Bay Hydraulic and fuel line installations. Pretty cool to see the aircraft here in game!

Hey Growling, I have an idea for your videos. Just like the F-14 RIO you interviewed, he said that one of their last tests would be having to intercept a bandit without knowing what it would be. I don't know how you would be able to pull it off, but I think it would be cool if you flew against different opponents going in blind. Like take off - head in a general direction and just deal with whatever is thrown at you. Could be interesting.

The slow speed performance of the F-22 is amazing. At an Airshow it was pacing a P-51 and the mustang was not breathing hard. The F-22 was not needing to vector to go slow. It was impressive.

I'm impressed as hell by the F-15, honestly. In the right hands it really can do a little bit of that Mirage stuff. I remember dogfighting an Eagle while I was in a Viper, and I felt that he had all kinds of authority that was off limits to me. Eagle can get behind the energy curve real bad, but if you need to hit the brakes and pivot, it's not as much of a hippo as people think.

you literally do not have enough missiles to make that work, 1v3 or 2v6 maybe but 1v6 you would have to connect with basically every missile if you didnt want to end up in 1v3- ish gun dogfight

This is looking like it's going to be one of the great mods, like the A-4 and MB 339. Of course when I give this a go I'm going to get shot down over and over being a total noob at air to air. Although if the RCS is modelled I might have a better time of sneaking around!
