Agreed. I am still kinda surprised that most people want to get Eclipse before surge once they get to their tier. I find surge better. Eclipse can soft counter more and last longer, but surge has a skillset that just becomes more important in various situations. If you want a beacon runner, surge will be better. If you want a fast response unit in 2v2 after you die, surge is likely better (especially for quick spawning). If you want to counter a good degree of top mechs, surge tends to do better (nomad and vortex still being top stuff it does better against vs eclipse). So for specific uses its going to be better. Eclipse is nicer for general play, but Surge is more important for when it counts.

I have never ever encountered any problems dealing with eclipse. To me it is nothing more then a glorified shadow. Currently i am getting close to having enough a coins for my first tier 7 mech, and eclipse isnt even up for consideration. Surge is the only correct choice for me.

surge is way better version of zypher, (due to longer emp duration and high mobility). it can take down any bot if you have proper weapon setup. eclipse is a hide and seek mech and is a more support mech than a attacker mech .

Ok I think I know what they are thinking. For me eclipse is really not a general scout or beacon hunter. For me it's more of a brawler ......kill shit till you get killed. And due to that fact ...it does exceptionally well in FFA and tourney. And though cpc is a better format ....tourney is the way to get resources...so can't disagree with them🤷🏻

The Redeemer disrespect has been getting out of hand lately, can remove all debuffs except for system crash when maxed, solid HP for a scout and very fast for a non dasher, and its ability can be a headache if you know how to use it

I suspect Vortex deserves a S tier placement as well. I must strongly disagree with Lancer being the worst though. When played like a shy ninja, my jav 6 & 4, or gren 10 Lancer is ferocious and punches well above its own weight. Not to mention the satisfaction of winning while being the underdog in most matches. one thing that you always need to count with, up to 2k, yes, Arachnos is just a decent mech, but after 2k there is a combination which I find really useful - Arachnos with Helix Racks. Since Arachnos is a free mech with 16 energy (at the time of you getting it), you don't even need to upgrade it much to be able to use HRs. Also, 90m on HRs provide a good way of hiding on open maps, like Patterson Stadion or Colliseum (idk how its actually called lol). Yes, Arachnos is by no means a B or A tier mech, but it does perform fairly well even at my level (3.5k SP)

For those of us learning the game and trying to make decisions about what to do next, us being able to understand why some things are better than others allows us to apply similar logic to other situations. Right stop glazing redeemer. It's op you can get out of any situation and its ability is great for scouting in 2v2 especially with missile racks or really any good weapon (obviously not close quarters) its the only mech besides eclipse that can bait things like surge to pop their abilities (of course you need to be decent to do that). In many ways it's better than eclipse in escaping people when they pop their abilities.

​​@@onyxium1it's true it has become slightly worse but it is definitely the best mech in my hanger above surge. I main 2v2 with someone on comms and redeemer is either our best or second best mech. For me at least it works better than orion on comms as you can have excellent teamwork against people of a much higher sp with it escaping surges or nomads or vortexs or eclipses with it. I have MRs on it with Mr radius implant and they absolutely cook. The speed with the backtrack means you should never really die with out killing someone first at least. Even when I'm not on comms it cooks better than the rest and before you say it's the Mr radius that does it then I just wanna say of all my mechs MRS work best on redeemer above orion ageis or surge

You absolutely underrated Guardian. Should be S Tier because even though he's slow, he still has the best ability in the game. (Like u said they should be rated by ability) He's one of the first mechs you unlock and counters ALL the current meta mechs AND all the new mechs coming out like Deathwalker, Blockthorn etc. Makes Outlaw look like a paperweight because Guardian's crash can easily shut down stealth mechs like Eclipse / surge since the crash doesn't need sight of the enemy. Yea he falls off on sniper maps but Mid to close range maps Guardian Rocks. His only weakness (like all mechs) is Revokers/EGs. (but a smart guardian player will splash a revoker player around a corner with SR's) Guardian can also remove Sleep/Stun/Blind from allies while disabling enemies at the same time. In a good Situation Guardian can easily crash the whole enemy team. Def deserves to be A/S. I feel like you down played Bastion a bit too. Bastion's EMP is always long enough for me to line up the perfect Storm Rack shot behind their feet and kills them every time. (with mods) Excellent for countering current meta mechs like Surge. Aegis should be A Tier, gets countered so easily in the current meta by Surges/Seekers where Bastion would hold up way better with EMP protection. You also forget the amount of damage you prevent in those precious 3 sec. of stun especially with the legendary EMP range implant.

Split builds (I call them hybrids) are very impractical unfortunately. Especially now that pilots only increase dmg of their specific weapon type. The only hybrid that actually works late-game, is Revoker + Ember. Sad, I enjoy the idea of hybrid builds :/

Tengu revoker is better than stalker and zephyr. He can jump over and onto obstacles witch has saved me many times also his stasis last for 5 sec witch is longer than zephyr also his ability does pretty ok damage. Not mention he is faster with more health and has stealth with legendary implants. And above all else his skin looks way better. Js and im sad for my baby redeemer i had to retire him Em redeemer i will miss getting 30 kills a match hes sadly so useless now. He will be replaced by storm rack Orion. And perfectly said about my baby bastion hes just getting hard to use and im not sure why. But hopefully ill use him again but unfortunately im waiting for block horn to come home soryy Aegis.

Well I've watched enough of your videos. Im gonna guess you'll say aegis the best f2p mech. Honestly I may get aegis soon the only f2p mech I'm left relying on is my ares now and I mean it's four star level seven. I don't see the point ranking it again when it hardly coats more to just get aegis. And tanks really suit my style because I don't have the patience to keep sniping or doing artillery every match like so many seem to I prefer to eliminate the snipers. I think I'm going to finish my squad out with eclipse then. I think perhaps nomad or surge would be better but I have some nice implants for eclipse and that saves me having to get them

Great video as always. Here is my personal feedback as a 12k player. • Aegis should not be all the way in the high SP bracket. His shield is weak and with the high dmg output of revoker and stormrack will take down his shield in seconds. Em rifle basically one shots the shield away. Trust me throwing a shield thinking your protected and it goes poof right away sucks🥲You came back tho, and put panther above aegis which is on point👌🏻 panther is for sure better than aegis. His Indestructible shield, and 24 vs 32 energy capacity is huge. • To say bastion is unusable at high sp is absolutely absurd. Stormrack bastion is such a powerful build even in cpc. Great for holding center and with storms, 3 sec emp is plenty of time to make the kill. But yes hes slow and sometimes a sitting duck once his shield is gone.( I think where you placed bastion is accurate👍🏻) • Putting Tengu in the 2-4k bracket is wayyy off, come on now. I use a maxed tengu with revoker 16 in a 12.5k hangar and it does great. Also so fun to play. Want to see it in action? Nah, aegis shield is still more usefull and practical than stasis barrier Better cover and gives more time to kill the enemy mech Also, Panther is a glass attacker, you only needs a side attack or an uncovered point to make it disappear with one shot or radius weapon, Ruffles even has a video where compare both of them and show how aegis has the upper hand against panther ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

@@SleepyCat99999 Listen. You clearly don’t play at high sp. You throw an aegis dome it’s gone quick, cause everything is targeting you. Especially bots. 3 bots will attack the shield with everything they have. 700,000 shield Hp is not very much trust and believe that. Stormrack panther can stay way back and push up as well. You shouldn’t be taking damage with an infinite shield, and if you are, your not playing panther right. Especially now with mods he is a beast with storm 16s. Versatile guaranteed cover. Git Gud✌🏻
