Just passed my part 107 with a 90% today! As an FYI, I watched this video, Tony & Chelsea Northrup's "FREE Drone Certification Study Guide: FAA Part 107 sUAS Test" and took a practice exam I found online. By far the easiest exam I've ever taken. Total studying including practice exam, watching the videos in 2 times speed ~ roughly 4 hrs the night before the exam. The only thing I would have done differently would be to look up recent changes with remote ID as that wasn't really covered in either 2 videos. Don't stress on this exam, like 75% of the questions were extremely straightforward. I spent a total of 35 minutes on the exam, trust your gut and watch how they give you the answer (it's often very easy to eliminate the wrong choice and there were times when just by the answer you already know the correct one). The sectional chart was probably the hardest part of the exam but luckily they do give you the book/legends so use that to your advantage and you can always come back to them if they're taking too much time :D. I have heard some KZbinrs say that they finished the test in less than half an hour with an 82% or similar, but when I was taking the exam I thought to myself "I just spent several weeks studying a TON and $160 to have this opportunity...I am gonna take my sweet time!" I used up a full 1 hour and 50 minutes before finally submitting my answers, but it gave me a chance to be VERY thorough and I think it paid off. Thanks again for your FREE test prep video. Took my test on Friday NOV 10 2023 with a 72% obviously not amazing but I passed. I only did 4 and a half hours of intense studying (headphones in, 0 distractions) the day of. I watched all of this video in 1.5/1.75 speed and used the blurting/repeating method and also wrote notes down. (Blurting/Repeating = I would watch a lesson and then after it ended I would pause and say out loud everything that was covered in the lesson a couple of times in my own words) The only other video that I watched was also a video from this channel about the most commonly missed questions of the exam. The biggest thing that this video does not cover is how to read the maps and the components of the maps in the book they give you with the exam. (big part of the exam, don't underestimate) Thank you so much Altitude!

@@theberkeleygrouppropertyma6254 go and watch the drone coaches video series. They're dry and hard to watch but that's just the materials that make it dry. Tony and Chelsea Northrup's video. Do the entire Altitude University series and take all their quizzes and the final test. I would also suggest reading the booklet as well to refresh your memory on things. When you go to take the test, bring a magnifying glass. The sectional charts in the book they give you have really small writing.

Amazing video as I'm studying for my part 107! I read the AC 107-2A in my studies and found a correction at 58:20. In appendix B, section 3 about the weather briefings, "While Flight Service does offer a telephone-based service, it is intended for manned aircraft pilots only."

Grateful I passed with a 87% score. The questions on stall speed of fixed wing aircraft caught me off guard as I did not study much of that content in the material I used to study. I recommend reading through the faa study guide document itself. I studied this video and Tony Northrups material.

Great stuff, and really appreciate this. For those just getting here, note that, as of this writing, it is not updated for the changes that just went into effect and were rolled out in the exam on April 6th. There are a few items that are in direct conflict with the new rules, but it's really, really minimal and any viewer can catch up with the changes in literally 5-10 minutes. Key changes in the immediate term are in retesting requirements, night rules, and flying over people. The latter requires that you also meet a requirement that otherwise won't be fully implemented until 2023.

@@altitudeuniversity passed the exam, 88% last week1 There was a handful of questions on there that I wasn't expecting to see. like they reference sub-sets of "part 107" and then ask the question after using the subset title pertaining to a certain law. pretty annoying because I knew the law, but maybe not the exact subset number in some cases and really had to guess which rule they were referring to in that case.

Only real surprise was some remote ID questions which I didn't expect. Moving the transponder from one drone to another, something like that. Will definitely keep my eye our for that type of information so I'm ready in 2 years.

I read that if they're registered together, you can transfer the transponder between drones. Glad to hear it, I've done about the same amount of studying but read through the remote ID new rules. (apparently all drones require it now). I take the test tomorrow morning.

Thank you for the excellent video. I just passed the Part 107 test and it had maybe 10 questions from all the question banks and videos out there. There was maybe 20 questions chart related and many of questions on new info not even in FAA study guide like foreigner with drone ID and many other remote ID, new fly over people, flying at night over people, weight category3 of drones questions. Questions on chart were different and some small airports based structures were hard to find. But having all the info helped and thank you for the videos.

I really love the course, it has helped me prep and I think I'm just about ready for the test. My favorite part is the video length, you go into enough detail to get to the point and it's in shorter segements that I can come back to re-watch.

I can’t get over the amount you need to memorize for this test. I just want to do real estate photography, so more often than not the drone would be just slightly more elevated than the house I’m photographing lol. Plus it’s really annoying that you have to do this test every 2 years at $160 a pop. But a drivers license is good for 8 years or so! I wish they had different licenses for different drone uses.

Hey guys, I am new to drones and have yet to purchase one at this time. I am very intrigued with their operation and the limitless possibilities, if nothing more than personal enjoyment. I'm looking into getting my Part 107 certification for possibly starting a business in the near future. I've been watching this video and taking notes and I just realized that this video is two years old. My question to you, is this video still applicable as a study guide? What if any changes have the FAA made that is not covered in this video? I don't want to waste time reviewing a video if it's no longer relevant or leaves out crucial material.

Hello, the FAA does make changes from time to time. Typically, you see updates every couple of years. The latest is Remote ID. Our course is always updated with new material, and when changes are made, we typically make a KZbin video on the change.

I took my Part 107 exam today, and I was disappointed that I passed with only a 78. I studied for two weeks, watched tons of videos and took about 12 text exams on which I consistently received scores in the mid-90s. Hardly any of the material I studied appeared on today's test. The test focused a lot on sectional charts. There were a lot of trick questions and questions that didn't make any sense. I know I can take it again, but why bother?

1:23:53 I'm not understanding how if the radius is 20NM, that means "10NM from center outwards". Radius means from center outwards. A circle with a radius of 10units is 20 units across (in diameter). Diameter is twice the radius. Is 20NM describing the diameter? This reminds me of the "high density, low density" part earlier where what is described as high density is actually air with low density (density being a scientific term to describe the concentration of matter, high density means higher concentration). Does the FAA just use words erroneously that contradict common scientific and mathematical terms?
