7.3 is a good motor, i dont know why they stopped building them, oh i know it was practically bullet proof and hardly ever needed any work done to them, they hardly ever had any major issues.

Did you use grade 8 bolts for the hitch to van frame connection?

I did not, but its a good idea. I forget what bolts I used. But say I used 1/2" grade 5 bolts, each bolt has a 12,000 lbs tensile strength. I think I used 8 bolts in total. So in theory those bolts together can hold ALOT of weight. Something else would likely fail before the bolts. But yes, grade 8 is better.

Homestore or hardware store concrete regarding tie wire. Very useful to keep a roll in your truck for emergencies like tying up broken exhaust etc

I know this is a late comment but that 4th hole was for a towtruck to hook to and use grade 8 bolts,, but good video !!!

SnowPlowLife not about winning just experience. Was a firefighter for 20yrs, have been disabled retired for the last 5 yrs in December. What makes that van so special is the rare 4x4 conversion.

Likely, leather slip on shoes. I usually wear them around the house. Likely should have had boots on, but still better then nylon sneakers
