Last year (2015) the Mustang easily beat the Camaro. Chevy stepped up their game this year (2016). In the next year or two, Ford will match or beat Chevy. Then Chevy will come back with something better. And on and on it goes. The beauty of competition in the free market!

Exactly. I'm into snowmobiles and people get so brand loyal meanwhile each of the 4 companies take their turns with something innovative. Well said.
@samuelrs51388 жыл бұрын
Brand loyalty can be smart but not when people get emotional over it and/or won't even consider other brands. For me it's more about brand dis-loyalty, i.e. the brands I avoid like the plague. Up until the last decade or so, Kia would have been one of those brands. VW is one of those brands right now since their leadership has proven they cannot be trusted to tell the truth even when it comes to potential life/death problems with their cars.

GREAT REVIEW!!! I am a die hard Mustang Fan and you are 100% spot on. Every issue that the Mustang has is a legit problem(panel gaps, weight, Ford's hard-on for the V6 to sell more ecoboosts). Anyone who does not agree needs to go to their local Ford dealership and look at the 2015 Mustangs on the lot. Exterior fit and finish has been a big problem since it is a new model of course. I agree that this Camaro has it beat....for now ;) Tbh though, I would still buy the Mustang over that Camaro because of the WW2 bunker interior feel along with the poor visibility.

LOL rubbleyboo! Im neither a ford or chevy guy. In fact my wife and I have leased/purchased 4 ford vehicles. i test drove both the eco mustand and v6 camaro. I test drove the mustang a couple of times, I was very close to buying one. I was negotiating the perfect deal with several dealers. I test drove the camaro bc I thought why not they are comparable sports cars. So I thought, the second I drove the camaro there was really no comparison. The mustang felt slow and sluggish almost boat like around corners. The camaro was agile, quick,and stiff in corners almost no role. In a matter of minutes I was sold. My personal preference on the inside styling was the mustang(besides the PB), but marginally. the sound system seating sync3 was better. If that is what you like about your car go that route. If you are into how the vehicle drives its not close. The camaro is amazing. I hope I've helped anyone looking at both cars. I think they are both amazing and it makes me feel good to live in an era where I get to choose between a 9.9 and a 10.

Absolutely loving my 2016 2LT RS V6 6 speed Camaro with the NPP dual mode exhuast and the ZN2 lighting / convenience package (that's a mouthful). Fast "enough" for a daily driver / city commuter. Exhaust sounds amazing around 5000 rpm. The car feels well built and is driver-centric with a lot of great tech. The heated and cooled leather seats are comfortable. Feels every bit as nice as German cars selling for $10,000 more. And of course the Camaro is sportier looking. 2 year follow up: still love this car. It’s a blast on canyon roads. sb632 Just because... The ecoboost is rated for power and mileage on 93 oct. If you drop to 89 octane in the ecoboost the engine will lose almost 20hp, more torque, and mileage will suffer. Now you are slower and have worse gas mileage than the V6! Pay a premium price to drive a slower worse mpg car? lmao 😂!! The V6, even detuned, is still just as fast in the 1/4 mile stock for stock. My bolt on V6 has yet to lose to an ecoboost and I’ve raced the 2018 one past 130 and it was not close after 100 lol.

Good honest review. Notes to take away. -You can quickly change the mustang muffler for $400 to $1200 and grab a nice "grrrr" muscle sound. -The Mustang took a GIANT leap forward in the style change. Chevy did not. I will credit Chevy in staying true to the blood and maintaining a real identifiable link to the last model. -Both cars are affordable and modifiable. Modification prices will carry a unique twist to end game and it's really up to you to do the research if modification is your goal. These are 2 fantastic cars that many people can afford. Hi. New to the channel. Excellent, and detailed, reviews. I own a 2011 Mustang GT for track use, where the live axle is not an issue (it definitely is on the street), but I bought a 2015 EcoBoost Mustang late last year as my daily driver and love it. The "normal" seats are far better. The Recaro's are horrendous. I'm 6' and 190 lbs, and they were unusable. Fit and finish on my EcoBoost is quite good, I was surprised to hear about the tester's quality. The 7th gen Camaro is an excellent car. I still found visibility poor, and was not a fan of the interior. Of course, that's highly subjective. Certainly, the V6 sounds much better than the EcoBoost, but the EcoBoost really brings the torque. A basic tune, like a Cobb stage 1, absolutely transforms the EcoBoost. This is a must for any enthusiast. Ford's tuning is ridiculously conservative. Both cars are winners IMHO that a buyer can't go wrong with.

Good video. But what the younger audience should realize and consider appreciation for is that my generation didnt have KZbin videos to provide their opinions. Yes we had car mags but the reality is it came down to what our friends drove and what we liked from an appearance perspective. The Information Age is great. But it takes away some of the pure enjoyment of experiencing something for yourself. I bet my impressions will be slightly different than you if we both test drive and take a close look at any one car. The Mustang and Camaro looks are great. For me I’ll go with the Camaro because it has always had a performance stigma to the badge. The Mustang never lended itself to a handling platform, that is, until now. Go buy what you think looks best, sounds best and feels right for you. Don’t go by someone elses opinion. Still I enjoy the video reviews. But in the end do what YOU want when it comes time to buying a car. Ford, Chevy and Dodge you cannot go wrong with American Pony and Muscle cars.

It was the best car I have ever owned in 30 years and dozens of rides... until the common issue of a torque went out... then the trans acting up with no help from Chevy to fix it, we got rid of her... I cried lol just being honest, we loved that car. I have been eyeballing the new ecostang and I am amazed at how I like it better than the 5.0! It’s a quirky power curve is the real issue... but tune and undoing Ford idiot engineering can fix that. Forgot to mention a big point. Based on your trim review there is about 6 grand difference (if you take off the recaro seats that are incomfortable and don't' make any change in the performance) in favor of a Mustang. The buyer have to justify the price also, if you put 6 grands for tuning your Mustang will fly and than you have performance and praticability. If you stand in the stock one you save some money for a still bad ass looking car.

Forget the V6 Camaro. The 2.0 4 banger is the one everyone needs to watch out for. With a tune, those things are bad ass!

Bottom line, if you want a mustang, you're going to get a mustang, and if you want a camaro, you're going to get a camaro. You don't get either of these cars because one is more well-featured or has eco-whatever. These cars are built to capture your attention. I would never switch to a camaro from my mustang. In a million years.

Got a 2018 RS was going in to get a 2019 2SS ended up with the RS 15 grand price difference between the two plus insurance I’ve had it a month and I love it and I’ve had Camaro’s since the mid 90’s I bought a 2010 when they brought them back and I went through 3 clutches and a new trans in less than 10k miles so got rid of it and I think Chevy did a good job on these ones plus the hyper blue just looks so good.....

I've been shopping now for two months. I've considered the Mustang, Camaro, Audi A5 and Mercedes C300 Coupe. Eventually, I reduced it to the Ford and Chevy mostly because of the reputation of the European cars being expensive to maintain. With the field down to Mustang and Chevy, your video helped me make the final decision. I'm going for the Camaro. A 2019 RS 3LT package. I have a long commute to work and back and the Camaro is going to give me the performance and luxury I want at a good price-point and reasonable cost of ownership.

This is outdated.. fords new ecoboost has a 10 speed auto and is faster than chevys turbo and v6 camaro

For people that are shopping now for used versions of these cars this is a good reference. Why oh why the Chevy designers decided to shrink the windows with each design change is hard to fathom unless the head designer loves chopped hot rods. Give me a 1967 Camaro coupe or convertible....now there was a perfect pony car design. Just like the original 65-66 Mustang, all the design changes have never been an improvement just change for the sake of change.

how does the camaro stack up to the mustang in the aftermarket? i mean a bolt on ecoboost is putting out like 350hp and 400ftlb torque and runnign 12's. i only see middle aged women driving the v6 cameros and i dont see hardly any of the newer mustangs around town anymore.

Great video, especially at those low shots around the corners where I dragged knee pucks. I have logged 24,000 miles there at Tortilla Flats every Sunday morning then off for breakfast at Saloons. Mustang Eco Boost owner.

This video is old..it's now 2020. The new gen Ecoboost beats the Camaro v-6 so welcome to your opinion but buyer's who actually spend they're money choose Mustang. An added plus is you can actually see out of it

Isn't the 18 and 19 ecoboost mustang's faster than the v6 camaro? Also could someone answer this question for me. Are they really about to do away with the camaro in the next couple years?
@colinw72054 жыл бұрын
Some idiots said that Ford was "risking controversy" by ditching the V6 for the 2.3L Ecoboost 4 cylinder. Ditching the unloved and with no aftermarket support 300 HP/270 TQ V6 for the 310 HP/320 TQ turbo 4 cylinder Ecoboost . Wasn't controversial at all. It was a no brainer that both the bean counters and the car guys at Ford could agree on. Now ALL Mustangs are NOW in fact "performance cars" whatever the trim level or engine option. Being that the Ecoboot has an MSRP of $26,400 within the budget of young carbuyer/enthusiasts and can be easily tuned up to 500 HP with a change of the turbocharger.

These were the 2 cars I came down to and really thought I would go with the Camaro but things change. It's my everyday car driving to work in Atlanta traffic and just little space and major blind spots in the Camaro for me. The mustang ecoboost has a WAY better interior in my opinion and more comfortable which I was surprised at with more room. Plus, with the mustang being turbo you can add many more mods and get more gains than the Camaro in my eyes. And then of course price. I am all about fully loaded interior and ecoboost fully loaded was still cheaper than Camaro with basic everything with cloth seats which I cant stand. Gotta have leather so I fell in love with the mustang and with the mods it just keeps growing and not sure if it was designed that way to let the owner play around to get gains in areas to fit your driving needs. Now I am in love with turbo cars (sounds weird when it's referred to a mustang) haha

Haven't driven the ecoboost yet. Been driving the 2016 ss for a few months. Great power. Fun to get on the throttle. Great sound. Visibility sucks. I get it, adjust mirrors blah blah..still sucks AND ask any 6th gen Camaro owner..the recline sucks. Poor mpg and premium fuel. Great as a 2nd car for weekends tho

Good. detailed comparison. I disagree with you on the Mustang V-6 being "rental car grade"engine. I bought a 2016 Mustang V-6 Auto w/18" wheels. On Regular Unleaded, it specs as quick or maybe a shade quicker than the Ecoboost on regular gas. It reminds me of my '96 Mustang Cobra. The ride and handing is also smooth and satisfying. My only complaint is the steering wheel is off center. The dealer where I bought the car has tried to get it right twice and still the same. I'm getting a combined 22.5 - 24 MPG's. I also just bought a 2017 Camaro 1LT 2.0 Turbo Auto. I have 2 ponies in the corral.. I'm getting a combined 25.5 - 28 MPG's. It feels more sporty in the curves and slightly stiffer (because of the 20" wheels perhaps). Both Camaro front seats are power, where only the drivers seat in the Mustang is power. They're both fun cars. Mine will only get 1000-2000 miles pear year for at least the next 5 years until my son turns 16. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and commentary. Thumbs up.

I just wish the Camaro had a classic e-brake. ya the electronic brake is fancy and looks nice, but you never know when you'll need an emergency brake. I once dropped my water bottle and it blocked my brake pedal and I was approaching a stop sign with another car in front of me. I wasn't going fast, so nobody was gunna get hurt, but using that emergency brake saved me a lot of headache and money.

@@rueben44 I think it is so stupid, Ford had a car from 2011 to 2014 that was perfect, didn't need a turbo, got 30 miles per gallon, hit 60 in just over 14 seconds, sounded great. Instead of refining this popular engine like they did with the GT they killed it.

In my opinion I recently bought a 2017 gts550. Love the car originally wanted a camaro, but the mustang price puts it ahead. You're getting more bang for the buck the camaro has a slight advantage with 15k more. If I added that to a mustang it would be better so it's hard to say. Love both cars tho
