I’ve been running ads and last week the ads had a low cost per conversion but 4 days ago a payment failed. Once I notice and paid it I turned back on my ads but for the last 4 days my cost per conversion have been 3x higher and have shown no sign of lowering. Should I keep running the ads or create a new ad with same audience? I tried looking to see if you had a video on this topic but I couldn’t find it

In that scenario I think a campaign refresh makes a lot of sense. Also be very careful not to let that happen again. Facebook hates failed payments and does seem to punish advertisers with higher costs after they've had them.

@diptib13 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video Ben. Lot of insights. I have some questions: 1. You mentioned keep on testing. Should we test for 7 days even if the ROAS is very low like 1.5x for eg? 2. You mentioned use correct objective… like purchase for sales and not add to cart and also let the ad be like it is for 7 days. What if in the 7 days we do not get 50 purchases the FB needs to get out of learning phase. When do you decide to stop a campaign?
@vvk199113 жыл бұрын
It is important to understand the minimum roas you want to target to keep you above the Breakeven for your business. So if a campaign after 7 days is delivering ROAS which is not profitable switch it OFF. Scale those campaigns that are above your minimum target ROAS. Also, while testing check a campaign only after 2 - 3days.
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
Awesome :) 1) That depends how far off your target you are. If you need a 2x ROAS to make your campaigns work then yes I'd keep testing. If you need a 6x ROAS to make your campaigns work then we'd end the test quite quickly if we were that far off. 2) Don't worry about that and the learning phase. Anything you do to correct for that will cause more harm than allowing your campaigns to operate in learning limited.

What if i've come to the point where all of my 5 ads in the ad set are delivering great results, do I still toggle off the losing ones ( those, or the one, that perform worse than others to add a new one hoping that that one might perform even better. Hey Ben, thanks for this great video! I am just not sure about the mistake number 5 where you talk about optimising for what we really want. At Campaign level it makes sense, and it also made sense in Ad set level, but in one of the previous videos I am pretty sure you said you're now more inclined to going one step back (i.e. optimising for IC instead of PUR even if Purchases are what you're after) just because there's more data... and the more data post IOS 14, the better for FB... but that must've been a few weeks ago and I know it's changing rapidly now. @ElizaWong3 жыл бұрын
Would also love to hear what you think about this Ben. Thanks for the video
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
There's a big difference between those two. For Facebook to be able to test and optimise, you need time. For example, one of the variables Facebook optimises for is time of day - you can't do that with a one day test. You also won't be able to generate multiple exposures to individuals either. If you have a large budget and want relative answers quickly (Ad A outperforms ad B) then that approach will work. But don't expect the results to be good while you find out the answers.

Thank you, Ben! PLEASE help me with the question that has been killing me for a long time now. Why doesn't Google Analytics attributes any (or very few) sales to Facebook, while Facebook attributes to itself a lot of sales. I know there can be different attribution models and I played with them. I've also been using UTM. But Google Analytics still barely gives any credit to Facebook. Do you recommend a third-party analytics tool? Which attribution do you trust more - Facebook or Google? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU!
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
You are welcome :) there are always discrepancies between the two but they usually aren't that bad. Attribution differences could be the answer. You could also be seeing modelled data in your Facebook ad account that isn't very accurate yet. Have a look at how the data compares over 30 days - I guess it's more similar than over shorter time horizons. We don't have a default 3rd party tracking set up we use because it depends on the client and what CRM they are using (if any).
