I've seen Rod Stewart 21 times. In the early days, he was using the other guys from The Faces to back him up. "ROD STEWART AND THE FACES" was how they were billed. As I recall. They were a loose bunch of almost clownish and ragged performers... Until the music started. And then it got very real, and very good. That was what we all came to see and hear. Still ragged. But in a good kind of way.
