If you've ever broken a matte shadow and felt sinking dread that it's gone forever, fear no more! I've made a tutorial on how to save or re-pan your matte eyeshadows: no alcohol required.
Please share with anyone whose makeup may need this fix! ~Gina

TUTORIAL: How to re-pan matte eyeshadows. Featuring Sugarpill Love+
STEP ONE: Remove the product from the pan. No need to be delicate! Just dig it out. There's nothing you can do here to ruin it.
STEP TWO: Grind the product into a fine powder. You can use a knife, credit card, or mortar and pestle. A knife is less messy, but a mortar/pestle makes drier formulas easier to grind.
As you near the end, look out for fine, hard clumps. They will crunch when pressed and may roll around. It's important to crush as many of these as you can. They will stay hard in the pan and cause the shadow to crumble out.
STEP THREE: Move the product into the pan. Sweep the powder onto a smooth piece of paper and fold it in half to make a funnel.
Before pouring, place your pan onto a second piece of paper.
Pour/tap the product from the taco into the pan. Don't worry about excess. Then tap the product down lightly with a flat edge.
STEP FOUR: Press layer 1. Grab a flat disc slightly smaller than the pan and set it lightly inside. You can use a magnetic sticker or the bottom of another pan.
Once you've got it lined up, press down firmly. For shadows, press with your fingers and wrist. For blushes, use your arms and shoulders.
After a few seconds, dump the disc out. Your first layer is done.
STEP FIVE: Press layer 2. Using the excess from before, repeat steps three and four to press a second layer into the same pan. I only recommend pressing two layers.
After this, give your pressed shadow a quick swatch to ensure it's pressed to your liking and there's no crumbling. Then revel in your success.
For this session, I repanned 3.5 grams of Sugarpill's Love+ into two 26mm pans. It took me about 20 minutes, or 10 minutes per pan, which is my typical type to repan a shadow.
Dry-pressed mattes do not crack or dry out.
So far, I've had a 100% success rate using this method. I've also used it to save shadows from alcohol.
Thank you to Kristen Leigh of Kristen Leigh Cosmetics for suggesting dry pressing to me.
Go forth and repan! #RepanRevolution.

Hey Y'all! I know I've been gone for forever, and, sadly, I'm not exactly back. I've moved my content-making over to Instagram (come follow me!) for the most part, but I have made some videos there that I think would be very helpful to be on KZbin, so I'm uploading them here as well.
Let me know what you think!
