It seemed like the girls were better than the guys at guessing right? I mean that would make sense since women in general are better than men at reading body language for instance. Hard to tell with these few examples though.
@derekg55637 жыл бұрын
Well, trying to encourage a society in which we don't try to make one gender better than the other apparently only applies if it's about thinking that men in general are better at doing something than women. Yet, the instincts people get about women being better at certain things than men, apparently, those don't need to be held back because they used to not be able to vote. Whatever. I guess we'll always have the urge to make one gender better than the other (at something), just a matter of which urges we will allow and which ones we won't. I guess if I thought the men did better than the women, I would be sexist, or something like that, rather than just a harmless observer. Oh well, I guess that's ok, because, you know, it's me, who cares if I'm hastily labeled as a sexist or not, I'm just a silly worthless human being.
@hafsa16987 жыл бұрын
Derek G Both genders have things they're separately inherently good at. Stop assuming all females who maks commenrs like OP's are neo-feminist.
@haha-nv1gu7 жыл бұрын
Derek G you're making a really big deal about this simple comment lol
@derekg55637 жыл бұрын
I'm not assuming that, Hafsa. I'm talking about something I believe in. No matter what percentage of females who make comments like the OP's are neo-feminist, it doesn't make me believe in the values I proposed any less. That's not what it's about. If it turned out that most women who wrote these comments are not neo-feminist, it's not like I would suddenly say, ok, I take that back, I _do_ want one gender to always be made better than the other. No, because the reason I type the comment I type is because I'm passionate about not making one gender better than the other. Why should I be ashamed of that? I come to that value through trying to think about morality as much as I can, so you can't make me feel like a bad person that way. I'm doing the best I personally can to speak about things I care about. I don't have to assume anything about females, or anybody, to do that. You think it's about assumptions, but it's not. Regardless of why the OP made the comment, I stand by the general values I proposed. Such values don't accuse anyone directly of anything -- in fact, that's why I like to speak in terms of that, instead of just name-call.
@derekg55637 жыл бұрын
@ ha ha: Well, making a big deal about something simple isn't necessarily a bad thing. On youtube, it could be a good thing. In a social setting, no, you wouldn't want to speak your mind 100%. But on youtube, there is the opportunity. If the OP hates me for the comment I wrote, it'll be inconsequential, and in exchange for the OP hating me, I get to say what I wanted to say, and maybe some people will benefit from that. That's fine by me. The OP might not hate me at all, I'm not assuming anything there about the OP, because I said "if."
