This is my favourite weapon in MW3 - good recoil, good at close range, usable irons, great rate of fire, large mag/starting ammo and the silencer is BEAST. It also feels great when you unlock this weapon at the end of a prestige.

I think Infinity Ward did a great job in making SMG/ Assault rifle hybrids in this game. Namely the MP7 and FAD. They both have the effectiveness of assault rifles at decent range and the power up close to make both probably my 2 favorite guns in the game.

YES...I love the FAD, high rate of fire, accurate and a ton of fun to use. It seems to be one of the few guns i can unlock all perks with when using specialist. Thank you for this wonderful review and merry christmas.

I have to admit, I miss xboxahoy a lot, but you do great guides. I just bought MW3 this week so I haven't unlocked the FAD but it looks great. It seems like an assault rifle with a small LMG clip, and a fire rate of an SMG. It has to be one of the most unique weapons I've ever seen in Call of Duty.

The FAD is a good example of balance. It's good to those who take a little time to get to know it, but it's not exactly an easy gun like the ACR either.

Great review, I love how in-depth you go with choosing attachments and perks. Only used the FAD a little -- good gun, but you're right, it feels like a cross between an AR and a SMG. Looks pretty sweet, though

I like playing with FAD. I used a prestige token on it and in my opinion, is one of the best guns in the game. I get tired of seeing everyone running around with the same weapons, ACR, PP90, so on and so forth. It is nice when I jump in a game and see more than 2 weapons used by everyone else

@az123279 I did check it out. I only "skip" attachments if I really think they're a bad fit. I have never liked thermal scopes on AR's. Snipers and possibly LMGs (w/ a glitch), I'll touch on them.

The akimbo FMG9's actually have a .056 sec time to kill(with steady aim the thing is a bloody death laser of hipfire spraying power). The Type 95 has a .06 sec time to kill thus being the most overpowered weapons in the game.

The AUG was a less hated version of the Famas lol It was the same in pretty much everyway but it had a little bit more recoil then the Famas did.

I run FAD with Red Dot and Surpresser, Extreme Conditioning Pro, Assassin Pro, Dead Silence Pro. Great for those hard to get to places.

If everyone is using just one specific gun over every other gun in that category, it usually means that guy is pretty overpowered. That's just how the gaming community works, for example the Skorpion Evo and MSMC (before it was nerfed to hell) in Black Ops 2.

After the patch it has completely changed. I have it in gold. Try this class urself u won't be disappointed Soh/recon Assassin/QuickDraw Steady aim Use dual attachments and go for scilencer and extended mags !!! You would love it..!!. Basically its just a extremely accurate PP90M1 !!

it has some SMG features, for example it has a faster ADS time than ANY primary except the SMG's.

The FAD needs a slight power boost (35 - 25). I would also love a faster Center Speed and a faster Set down and up time.

yea the one thing that always pissed me off in mw3 was always being killed by the acr,mp7,striker,usas,pp90m1 no else ever used guns like the fad m16 m4a1 ect no players ever wanted to challenge themselves

@dormerxl I'd say the most impressive thing about it is that it is balanced in spite of that. I'd argue half the reason the UMP45 from MW2 and the FAMAS and AK74u from BO got some much flak is because they combined the best stats of both categories.

probably because it's got a bullpup design (the mag is behind the trigger), like the tar, and yeah the fire rate is also pretty high also, however the tar is extremely powerful, while the rounds of the fad are weaker and have less stopping power and penetration

u can use the fad with 2 attachment proficiency : the silencer and the extended mags, in my opinion a solid choice

Did you know that? The FAD's magazine is 12 degrees offset from being parallel to the weapon. Know you know!

I don't always use the FAD, but when I do I prefer to give it extended mags and kick, Overkill it with an AA-12 (Ext mags and Damage) - Scavenger Pro, Overkill Pro, steady Aim Pro. Throwing Knives, stuns. Specialist SoH pro, Assassin Pro, sitRep pro.

I really think you should please take another look at the thermal. It has improved compared to the thermal and IR from mw2 and blops (lower recoil and same zoom as the acog). It has not let me down on many AR's. Honestly have you checked the thermal in this game?

Akimbo'ing (hope thats the right term) used to be good, now since they give regular starting ammo, i burn through machine pistol ammo like crazy, I can use my akimbo G18's for like one or 2 fights then they're useless.

@xxRagingAmishxx The F2000 despite being terrible was my favorite gun in MW2, and ironically enough my favorite weapon in MW3 is the FAD. Any explanation on why I might only do good with bad guns? When I use the Type95 I actually do worse than running around with steady aim and an XM25.

Theres actually a difference between the red dot and holographic, theres a slight zoom advantage w/ the holo sight.

Quickscopers and pretty much all trickshotters out there are mostly hated for one reason: they are a huge burden to the team. Here's an example: Say you love Search and Destroy. You're in a game where both teams have skilled players (except for one on your team). The score is 3 to 3, with one victory winning the match. Both teams have one player left alive. The enemy is an SMG user. Your teammate (The trickshotter that has 0 kills and 3 deaths) thinks it's okay to try a 360 no-scope off the map

I find it funny that the Real Life FAD has a Fire Rate that is around 500 - 550.

And to be honest, there was no situation really where a assault rifle couldn't take a lmgs place and do its job better. The only thing the lmgs had going for them really was the high amount of ammo they had. The shotguns had too many hitmarkers, striker was the only option really. ACR made so many other guns pointless to use (AK-47 and CM901 or w/e for example) and the MP7 had way too little recoil....if you can snipe snipers across the map with a smg....literally across, there's a problem.

Yeah, but they already had one like the Fad. The Type 25 is very similar, the fire rate is almost the same, the hipfire is actually better then all the other assault rifles (literally, the box is slightly smaller), the recoil is very similar and hell, the reload animation is the same (without fastmags)

Im the same... really easy to use in my opinion, dont notice the 4-5 shots to kill and I used a prestige token on it too.. and i like the iron sights
