Haha. Hey you got great spirit! Surfing fishing is hard. But here are some easy tips - 1. Use sand shrimp as bait 2. Use the regular hook and this stretchy string to tie sand shrimp 3. Use boots or waders and gloves if possible 4. Fish at high tide since it brings the fish closer to shore 5. Bring a bucket for your catch. Good luck man! Hope you come to Oregon to fish. Thank you for sharing your videos!

From my experience, although the entire west coast is fantastic, it becomes that much moodier and more formidable from high nocal up into Oregon and beyond. Those beaches are so flat and cry with the love that we all do. Ya can't beat it!! 🤗🌻🧡

You should use a "leader" which is a wire that has a spot to attached the hook to - the wire prevents a fish with sharp teeth from biting through the nylon fishing line. If you go to a bait and tackle store, the staff would probably be more that happy to answer your questions and show you the best products to use.

When surf fishing you'll need a minimum of a 9' pole so you'll be able to cast out past the waves and a heavy weight. The current will eventually push you bait back to shore. The further you cast out the better. Use anchovies....fresh bait is best! Good luck don't get discouraged!
@greggtilghman63493 жыл бұрын
The beginning drone footage and music selection was award-winning! For surf fishing you want bait that won't come off like cut mullet (oily and makes your hands stink real bad). Spent my whole life on the coast of North Carolina surf fishing, pier fishing and saltwater fishing in boats.

Awesome opening scenes! Love the cooking segments. 3:03 you really need a hitch step. Break light is usually a low break fluid, sometimes caused by warn brake pads. Usually just the front pads. It is called fishing because otherwise it would be called catching, and that did not happen. Still a great day at the beach. 15:25 excellent technique and the food looks good too!

Don't give up. My late father in law used to say, "that's why they call it 'fishing' and not 'catching' ". Lol. Here in the south (north Miss), people look to see if the cows are lying down, then that means the fish are biting.

Great videos Jonathan. I am enjoying your adventures. I thought I would give you a helpful tip for splitting wood. Use a regular hammer with your hatchet. The hatchet becomes a wedge and you drive the hatchet though the wood with the hammer. This makes splitting wood so much easier. Enjoy your journey though life. John

That drone footage paired with your music choice at the beginning and end is spectacular. I always love your music choices. You certainly don't have to apologize to me for your fishing escapades. I've never fished and never had a desire to try. Love that pesto pasta dish . . Awesome job. People think I'm nuts b/c I like prepping and cooking like you do for just myself - but - ya know - it's my creative way to relax with a healthy nutritious end result. I'm happy that you've finally got out on the road with your SQ. We see that you have not acclimated just yet to "life on the road" . . . but - you'll get there. Take it slowly and smell the coffee as you go.

That was fun, Jonathan! Fishing can be a hit and miss proposition, especially when it involves surf fishing. The only fish I've caught in the ocean is dropping line and bait straight down from a boat or spear fishing. It's much easier, for me anyway, to fish in a lake or in slow moving river. That coastline is absolutely gorgeous.

Great episode Jonathan!! Your brake pads are getting low. Not the end of the world, but take a look at them and replace them. New pads are thicker, and will force the pistons back into the caliper, this in turn will push brake fluid back up into the reservoir, and turn off the warning light... IIRC tacomas use a float sensor. You can trick it by just adding a little brake fluid, but worn pads will still need to be replaced regardless. I'm terrible at fishing too!! One of the few things in life you can totally suck at, and still have fun.
