The actor who plays Kurama played Right, the Red ranger from the 2014 Sentai Toqger. Its crazy how young he still sounds.

Just finished the live action and yeah, I agree with the "no setup, and yet an obsession with payoff" take. My only complaints outside of the crazy fast pacing were that it felt like Kuwabara had a more defined character arc than Yusuke, especially since Yusuke's dislikability early on gets so downplayed. Impressive that they condensed so much, but I really wish they just focused solely on the first arc. Yusuke just going on adventures helping other ghosts works perfectly as a live action j-drama, plus those manga chapters have yet to get properly adapted.

Dude I love both Yu Yu Hakusho and Captain Tsubasa and I never made that connection. That's awesome.

Honestly, I did NOT like this adaptation at all. They ruined every bit of this series, with them skipping the "Saint Beast arc" to the "Dark Tournament Arc" too. Smh 😒

I didn't really like the dark tournament arc so I'm glad that they combined it as a background element because their's no way a tournament arc would work live action. Botan was cool.

Even I'll admit that Gundam series can take 10-15 episodes before they really get going, regardless of how good said early episodes are.
