Right out of the box, a bright yellow or orange lanyard is a self evident axiom. I have exact same lock in chrome, different brand name (all Chinese). Use the lanyard because if you forget its secured on your bike and take off you do damage, run it up to your twist grip. Also why does he want to have it blend in with the caliper, you want it neon yellow or orange so it is proud, Thief decides he'll go else where instead of even touching bike. Oh and I paid $16 on Amazon with Prime it was here in a day.

My Xena alarm system looks exactly the same but bright yellow and it starts off with a few warning tones about that level of sound before assaulting your eardrums with the sonic force of a thousand harpies! Claims to be 120dcb and I believe it. Once had it go off in a garage and thought my ears were bleeding

I just use a Kryptonite disc lock (no alarm) - bright orange with one of those reminder cables that stretch to your handlebar. I would also recommend a disc lock that comes in bright colours; yellow, orange or lime green. I want people to know/see it's there so they won't even mess with my scooter/bike. If it's not seen then they might walk up to it and mess with it and break something else on it. Look at it this way; you have one of those home alarm stickers on your windows or patio glass so would be burglars know your home is protected.

I have one. The yellow cord connects to the alarm and the other end is placed on your handle bars near the start button. It's bright yellow to remind you that the alarm is attached to your disc. That way you don't pull off and damage your bike.

The "lanyard" is for attaching to your lock when you arm the system. You loop the other end around your grip to remind you that you have a chunk of steel on your brake rotor before you leave. Don't laugh. There has to be a reason that it is supplied...and that's because others have taken off with the lock still on, only to completely fuck up their brake rotor. Also...the XENA XX series of rotor locks are much louder (120db) and go for around $100 but it's an investment in your bike's security.

Lanyard is a reminder you have a lock on your disk break. Attach it to your handle bar.

I bought one in the first rain and humidity, the alarm stopped working, i changed it with new batts, it woked again , next rain stopped, i opened let it air dry, and does it again, finally , third time , stopped working, it fail even with high humidity. Any thoughts?

Are they worth it ? But when people park the bike just make sure steer lock and don't let bike out of your sight
