Chinos, odd grey trousers,OCBD’s, buttoned down dress shirt, polos, knitwear, SC. Thanks for the introduction to Natalino. Love that all trousers have hight rise and single reverse pleat, and side tabs and cuff as standard OTR. Spier & Mackay have been my go to for affordable quality menswear for a few yrs now and don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. However 3 different seasons of S&M chinos have been disappointing as far as fit wrt rise and crotch depth. My hopes is that S&M tweak the cut in the future. Until then, I may have to splurge and try Natalino. That shipping cost tho. Yikes!

I had to work outdoors yesterday in 114ºF so I had to wear (gasp) t-shirts. But normally I wear jeans or chinos and a MTM untucked Sutton down with rolled up sleeves in hot weather but I work in a photo studio so I’m indoors most of the time. So I’m looking forward to some cooler weather to wear some nice clothes outdoors. Enjoyed the video as usual. Those Spier and MacKay trousers look very nicely finished, I like the black lining on the dark grey trousers. Nice touch.

Very nice video. Love the trousers - not sold on the shirts though. I have locally made trousers down here from a friends company, however they are of lesser quality and local prices. I will look into Natalino's for a couple of pairs of trousers. Recently got rid of 3 old suits (blk, dark blue, and grey) My waste is larger now. So now I have an excuse to buy. There is a tailor/store who carries Nino Cerruti's and Austin Reed off-the-rack at the Santa Fe Mall.. I have been a Cerruti guy ($400-500) for years, so I now have a source in Medellin. I have a couple of regionally made suits (Dark Blue and Grey), but this shop has an excellent selection of Cerruti's, so I will have to snag a couple of them. I also have a tan/Khaki suit I bought in Tampa. Will have to check and see if it still fits? Looking to get a Charcoal or darker Grey (to take the place of the black suit I gave away) and a nice money green or darker green suit. I have about 5 sport coats - all in Neutral colors and would like to add a splash of color, but summer is ending, so that can wait til Winter or Spring. Back in the day - when I worked for a living - I wore suits daily. This was for the last 15 years as a military contractor employee (post-USN). I put on the newer gray last week, for sh_ts and grins, just because I hadn't wore a suit since the last funeral (maybe 6 months ago). Haven't felt that good in months. Just sumthin' 'bout lookin' GOOD, y'know. Will probably start wearing one once a week-for my health and overall demeanor. Been to approx 7-8 funerals over my 8 years here. My wife knows tons of folks. Alas, no damned weddings. Folks need to get married, y'know! Wanana break out those cap toe oxfords... ;) As always, love your work Vladimir.

Vlad, very useful information, because of the collapse of the Bricks and Mortar Menswear Stores in Australia. In the Capital Cities the leading Department Stores have always carried their main style range from England, with the USA styles normally seen on products made in Melbourne and Sydney under licence. So that should match the style of the clothes in my wardrobe. Phil.

I wondered if you can maybe do a segment on a couple of old established mens clothing brands, Corbin and Oxxford Clothing. I wondered if these are now considered defunct, uncool or just not keeping up with modern styling as both of these companies have a much more classic or traditional styling. I do believe that each does have a very well established reputation for high quality especially when it comes to the fabrics they use or have used. Oxxford ties in my humble opinion are some of the nicest ties that I have ever seen, I received 3 of them when I thrifted 2 bespoke suits that were my size. I then took these suits to a tailor to tweak them slightly for a better fit. I'm a tight wad man! 😆

What's up! Would you mind adding a little bit regarding the size of the pleats on the trousers? I recently got some S&M and Pini Parma trousers and found out that their front pleats are absolutely baby pleats comparing to Yeossal's front pleats. I can stick my thumb into the front pleats of my Yeossal trousers while can barely get in the front pleats of S&M or PiniParma's trousers. It's a general trend that RTW trousers tend to have smaller pleats comparing to custom ones. Personally, I prefer deeper/larger pleats as they produce a better silhouette when ironed with creases. It would be great if you could talk about this in your next trouser unboxing.

I want to add a little more on the trouser rise. I found only measuring the front rise a little unfair for some trousers as the point where the seams meet varies among brands. Some have the point more towards the front while some others have it more to the rear. The front rise of my Yeossal trousers is about 13 inches while they wear at a similar rise as my Phineas Cole trousers which have a front rise of 10.5 inches. The best way to determine the rise of a pair of trousers I found is to measure the sum of the front and back rise. For example, for a 38 waist, 30-31 inches would be a proper high rise in my opinion.

What’s up, Dexter? One thing I’ll say about tabbed trousers is they don’t hold up as well as belted ones. In my experience, the tabs are more for show than function, so you just got to make sure that the trousers fit perfectly. I don’t mind since I wear suspenders anyway but with my polos, they must fit really well to work.

I got a natalino trouser in the cream brushed cotton. Its my favorite fit otr better than spier & mackay for me. I thinking about their linen trousers the drape looks really nice. Also planning on getting whatever they got coming out in f/w. Flannels for sure.

The trousers and shirt, with the jacket looks awesome on you. Seriously, you look like you just stepped out of Naples. Everything looks well-made and stylish. The one thing that bothers me personally though on those trousers, as well as the S&M trousers is the, let's say, "less expensive" hardware they all use on their side-adjusters. I suppose that's how they keep the price low. I am not saying they have to look like Pommella's or Ambrosi's, but out of the rtw, Rota and Anderson and Sheppard use decent ones. Otherwise, the trousers are perfect.

What do you think about pants that feature a gusseted crotch? I really like this feature (on casual pants) but I have not seen it on dress/suit pants. Nice fit Vlad (at least above knees)! Colors you use in here seem to be flattering to each other too. I had my corduroy trousers from them last year and was completely satisfied with the overall quality and fit except an issue with too narrow hem for me? Don't you have the same feelings about it?

What’s up, Dmitry? I’m thinking about getting the cream and navy cords myself. Because mine is a 38 long, it has to be shorten and hemmed anyway. But I prefer them at around 8”, I didn’t check what theirs was.

Vladimir Riché probably, with cords you could step up a bit above 8 cause of the pretty thick fabric texture. I’ve got mine ap. 7,67 inch in size 34 and they tend to stuck on my calfs when I get up and it is annoying in some way.

Great idea to try out Natalino ! I really like that brand since the very beginning, but I’ve never ordered anything so far... I already have my favorite brands for shirts (cotton society) and for trousers (Lopez Aragon) but Natalino is definitely a great choice 👍 your flannel trousers look very nice 👌

Simon well, my first trial wasn’t perfect, I had to have it altered, it was too large. But I think it was because at that time I didn’t knew very well my own sizing. Talking with Roberto or Ari by email helps a lot. It’s very easy to reach them by mail, or Instagram

Hey Vladimir...as always, enjoyed the content. I'm going to check out the pants and I think their regular dress shirts. Not a big fan of long sleeve polos for me. A question for you. I have several (3) navy sport coats. All 3 are cotton, and they were inexpensive. I got them tailored and they fit great so they look like a higher quality then they are...so no complaints. I'm ready to upgrade and want a fabric recommendation for a 3 season (fall/winter/spring) navy blazer. Can't afford bespoke...maybe made to measure. Any thoughts? Thanks

@Kevin Cragwell. While your very specific questions are directed to Vlad, during the last fortnight I took advantage of the marketplace problems caused by COVID 19. While the largest Department Stores in Melbourne Australia are not using the Media to advertise their current "Floor Price" I ended up buying three English tweed sports jackets and two blazers to compliment the four suits that I have bought during the last month, along with about a dozen business shirts. While they are all current fashion, slim line and narrow lapels. I only bought them to use for interstate business travel, because I still prefer my full cut business suits for daily wear in Melbourne. But the only item that I did not update was my $A850 BOSS Navy Blue blazer, because of the high quality fabric and reasonable quality tailoring, done in Turkey, it is always packed in my carry-on bag, along with a pair of chinos and complimentary wool trousers. So I suggest that before you make any purchase decision, that you just plain ignore all of the online shopping Advertising and spend a whole day walking around the major Department Stores. It took me an entire day, but I bought all of the above mentioned clothes for less than what I paid for the premium quality suit that I wear on a daily basis in the Melbourne CBD. Phil.

I would definitely recommend S&M but it’s even better if you already know your off the rack sizing, so the MTO can be a breeze.

I am justbgetting into meanswear and I like the look of a high waisted trouser particularly with a jacket. My wife on the other hand thinks they look like old man pants. Anyone else face this dilema? I’d say the regular S&M trousers. Those could possibly work.

@@v_r_ I will go and have a look. Only thing is that I live in France and postage costs quite a lot from S&M. In France I like Scavini (recommended by Hugo Jacomet) who do some very nice trousers that are around the 150-200$ mark, and for that price you can specify the length and finish of the trousers. I have one pair of linen ones and they are probably the best trousers I have.

Just a personal preference as I feel like trousers should hang from the shoulders and not the waist. Plus I can wear my trousers a little bigger in the waist and don’t have to worry about letting it in or out if my weight fluctuates.

I like the style of the polo, I have a couple of the Spier & Mackay ver. However I think a ribbed sleeve is way more versatile. I’d love to see a ribbed sleeve w/ and w/o buttoned down collar variants.
