Monday has always been laundry day for me. I like to stay home on Monday, clean up from the weekend, and reset my house for the week… I am 70 years old and have done this ever since I was married at 21. Has always worked for me.

I have an idea for your blank wall in living room. What if you printed a picture of your old home, your new home, and if you lived as a couple somewhere else prior and possibly a print of your church. Do a grouping of them in wooden or gold frames. Could possibly print them in just black and white. It would tell a story in a sense of how God has blessed your family and continues to do so. You could always add to it as years pass. The blank wall is one of those places that is going to be worth taking your time. Since you said that there isn't room for something bulky, I would either go with a large mirror or a large piece of art. I wouldn't do a bunch of small art or pictures there, I think it would take away from the tranquility of the space. I remember 32, that was a sweet time of life. I love the led candles and the new pillows.

I just love that living room rug ❤️I decorate over the course of 4-5 days. After that, I usually move things around and/or add things for 1-2 weeks before I am satisfied. That is why I start in mid September. Everything stays up until after Thanksgiving.

I do laundry every Monday, it’s my reset the house/ laundry day. I’ve always had a day I do all the laundry, it’s changed over the years to whenever I have a full day at home though. I’ve left too many loads in the washer to sour to try to do one load a day lol The house is absolutely beautiful💜

My laundry system is epic. Lol. I do a small load a day. Start at night. Switch over in the morning before work, then fluff,fold and put away when I get home. If it piles up, I will sort it by what has to be done to it.....fold. Hang. Towels and heavy jeans. And folding amd putting away goes so much faster. Happy Fall❤❤❤from Texas....it was 92 yesterday. Ugh!)

For me, fall brings back memories of hunting and camping. My dad was a pheasant hunter, and uncles and grandpa was a deer hunter. All of which went out and dry camped. I have added touches of vintage wildlife pieces in my decor that blends well with western decor(we are cattle ranchers). Lots of leaves and picks because the Central Oregon sagebrush landscape doesn't change all that much. Just the lighting. Happy Birthday 😊

Laundry day is generally Saturdays , as it is my second day off, it’s also my deeper cleaning day as the M-F days are just maintenance. I love getting my house cleaned and smelling fresh and being able to enjoy it before going to our daughter’s for our weekly Saturday night family dinner and game night. Friday’s co sit of errands, grocery shopping, bill paying and right now, Friday Night Lights as we attend our grandson’s football games and we tailgate. Subtle seasonal decor is the way I go (except Christmas and Easter!), I never remove my regular decor, I just put out seasonal items, like changing my faux florals but in the same vase the previous arrangement was in, or adding small touches like a pumpkin shaped amber candy dish with lid and taxing my summer salt and pepper shakers and putting out my copper ones and a pretty door wreath and changing out my beeswax cream colored candles for rust colored ones and changing out our lightweight throw blankets with knit and fleece ones and changing out the pillow covers, that’s about it.

Happy birthday Amy from one Virgo to another! I hope you had a lovely day celebrating. The house is definitely looking more homely and cosy. Less is definitely more when it comes to decorating for the season. We are having beautiful sunny and warm weather here in the UK but it’s going to turn wetter this weekend so I will definitely be lighting my candles, cosying up on the sofa and embracing the autumn season ❤

Happy belated birthday, Amy! I truly just love watching your decorating and homemaking videos. I find them to be encouraging, motivating, and so relaxing ~ cozy and inviting. Your home just gives me all of the feels. I can relate to the slower winter months. Living in Minnesota, winters can be long and oh so cold. It is nice to just take time to slow down and focus on the inside of our home. My husband and I just recently purchased and moved into a "new to us" home (it is a smaller ~ 970 square foot ~ home built in the 1950s) and over the past 2 months, I have made a lot of furniture and decor purchases. I am actually looking forward to slowing down, spending time indoors, and hopefully working on some interior projects. And now that a lot of my furniture and decor purchases have been made, it is time to hunker down and work on paying everything off. I still want to purchase some new bedding and wall decor for our bedroom, but so far nothing has really jumped out at me and spoke to my heart. I am not in a rush. I would rather take my time and wait for the perfect thing to come along rather than rushing into a decision and ultimately regretting it.
