This is absolutely haunting…. It gave me the same feelings that Disturbed Sound of Silence and Johnny Cash Hurt did. These covers really allowed the lyrics to tell their heartbreaking stories how they truly wanted to be heard.

@@elizabethparsons1071 Oh definitely. It is incredible what David Draiman/Disturbed did with such a classic song. Loved the original, love the cover as much or more.
@zoegartham312 Жыл бұрын
The only thing that I could debate is what we call this. Disturbed most definitely covered Sound Of Silence in my mind, as the melody, harmony, and everything else related to it is essentially the same. I can't speak to Johnny Cash's Hurt; it's not something I have had the chance to hear, nor is the original. I think Falling In Reverse labeled it correctly when they said it was a reimagining of the song and NOT actually a cover. While the lyrics are the same, the melody only has a passing resemblance to the Papa Roach song, enough to pay homage to it, but (in my mind, and opinion) not enough to be considered a direct cover of the song. Of course, this is probably splitting hairs, and both versions are incredible for what they are and what they have given us.

This rendition gives me new respect for Jacoby and what he must have been going through when this song was written. The original is such a banger you don’t get the impact of the lyrics. Ronnie woke this song up and opened up gave new meaning to it. Love both but this just got me. Depression is real. Great reaction. Give the wife some headphones. 😂

The added visual symbolism really adds to this - not only the crumbing buildings - but the fact that at the end - they _reform and rebuild themselves._ Really fitting, as the band is called _FALLING IN REVERSE._ It's uplifting. It's overcoming what has dragged you down.

@optimusprime7243 you are entitled to your opinion the same as I am entitled to mine. I feel as though he is underrated because a lot of people don't see how he is not just in a singer in a band but a talented musician as well. He KILLS the piano and sings beautifully. Ive posted this on a few other reaction vids.. but personal story for me... Goosebumps...... just.... goosebumps...... And quite a few tears.... 😭 The original song, came out at a godsend moment for me. I was dealing with a relapse (for lack of a better term to use) of a medical issue in my late teens that had my lungs randomly collapsing. Was in a really dark place due to the constant collapses + scars from surgeries..... the Original is what kept me from staying down and gave me the strength to claw my way back out of that pit. THIS is how i felt when i heard the original.. THIS is what i was hearing when i heard that original song... its what gave me the courage to not back down and give up. Yes i was 'head-banging' to the original (i even do the same to this version, just at a more sedated pace), but the feelings THIS song give.. are what i was dealing with at that moment... 5:16 = that moment when i was at my lowest during those days, literally teetering on a knife-edge ...... 5:21 + is what this song, in its original form, did for me.

I'll be seeing them next week! Thank you for doing this one. I lost my mom a few years ago, but I was driving home from errands the other night and Papa Roach's version came up on Spotify. When that verse came up, "it all started when I lost my mother", I had to pull over. I parked on a dirt road for about 20 minutes with that song and the reimagined on repeat. I was just thinking about life. It took me some time to get my nerves back, but this song just hits home once in a while. I hope they play a reimagined track or two when I see them in Iowa, though. Much love, Alex!

I want to say, like the most unexpected thing about this was, that there was no huge rock breakdown at the end. And I think for this song, i loved the decision to keep it visceral and emotional til the end. And that it brought the flames back to heal the world, rather than the end of watch the world burn. its a cool duality, or maybe its just an easter egg connecting the two.

What can Ronnie NOT do someone please tell me, what can Ronnie Radke NOT make sound beyond words incredible? OMG! I LOVE this song and this makes me LOVE Ronnie and Falling in Reverse even MORE! Anyway this song HIT/SMACKED me HARD, the lyrics are so hauntingly beautiful and relatable I've been really struggling with depression for the last few weeks now. The last couple of days have been the worst, I've NEVER thought about taking my own life or cut myself and I NEVER would. BUT this song is depression/anxiety in a nutshell, the raw emotion in Ronnie's voice is insane. You can feel it in your soul literally OMG! I'd LOVE to see Falling in Reverse live, I'd lose my voice screaming the lyrics to all the songs they played. Popular Monster would make me have zero voice cause I'd scream the lyrics to that song so loud, I'd bawl my eyes out too, and if they played this song I'd cry harder.
